How do you use men's ties in projects? I have pieces of ties left over from a bow tie quilt I made from them years ago. I also have made some flower pins from complete ties. I'll try to post a picture. This is a similar pattern: http://www.asg.org/scr/blog/2012/08/guys-tie-becomes-girls-rose/

Here is a Pinterest link to several uses and projects for men's ties. https://www.pinterest.com/search/pins/?rs=ac&len=2&q=mens%20ties%20repurposed&eq=mens%27%20ties&etslf=6835&term_meta[]=mens%7Cautocomplete%7Cundefined&term_meta[]=ties%7Cautocomplete%7Cundefined&term_meta[]=repurposed%7Cautocomplete%7Cundefined

I've thought about making a skirt from them.

Let's see what you make from men's ties.

I've seen them braided to make seat covers for kitchen chairs.

Yes, me, too! - woven seats for dining chairs that would normally have cushions.

LOL! Always up for a challenge, eh? Yes, so so many things to be made - and how many of our husbands or boyfriends have ties they don't wear? Recycle - that's the key nowadays, isn't it?

Oh wow! There are so many ideas. My favorites are the skirts and headbands made from old ties. Combining the different tie patterns turns out really nice. My husband only has two ties, so he won't be of much help. I'll have to ask some family members.

These are some Angels I made for the family of my church Pastor who passed away suddenly from a heart attack. These angels were made from some of his ties. His wife passed them out to family members Christmas Eve to hang on their family Christmas trees.
A really nice way for me to remember our Pastor and his special family.

Here are some of the tie "roses" I made. I still want to add felt leaves or some other embellishment.

Linda,, great idea... do you need a whole tie to make one rose?? do you have to open up and remove the lining or???
Sew many questions....
I could see one of these on a lovely wool coat,,, or pinned to a hat.... or, or, or....

Yes, an entire tie; do not have to remove lining.

Linda you need to do a video to teach all of us how to make your tie roses. They are absolutely stunning!
I agree with Grace, they would look beautiful on a coat or hat.

My daughter grabbed all my dad's ties when he passed and made a skirt out of them.

We embroidered his name and dates on the white one, then she wore it at her HS graduation. 2 years later, she loaned it to her sister to also wear at graduation. Next year, the youngest is going to borrow it.
