Rebekah, pictures of the samplers I made into pillows. Also started filling up that scrapbook I got yesterday at the thrift store, and one of my blogging friends wanted to see some of my old purses.
So now I have four scrapbooks going, that should do it.

Well, I'm not Rebekah but I took the privilege of peeking at the blog site; beautiful scrapbooking handiwork, Nancy Jo, and I am so glad you took those old photos, too; now they have their place of honor. And I thought I had a purse fetish......! Nance

Nance, you can look at my blog any time you want to, in fact I insist. The purse thing is mostly for evening type bags, and since we never go anyplace, they will last forever. As far as the fetish thing, glad to hear it isn't just me, the thing is, I have so many of them.

Bet your granddaughters would like to play dress up with those gorgeous bags; and I KNOW they must love coming to your house. How great that they live so close to you!! Nance

Nancy Jo, I love the idea of making pillows with the samplers. Yours look great. Tell me a little more about the process, if you don't mind. How did you prepare the samplers for the pillow? Starch? And, then did you just make a simple pillow or what? I'm not a very good sewer. I wonder if I could pull this off or if I'd need to head to a professional. Thanks so much, Nancy Jo!

Its not hard at all, I just steam pressed and put it right sides together with what ever material I wanted for the back, sew it all the way around except for about 6 inches or whatever, turn it right side out, stuff it with pillow stuffing, sew up the opening.Of course lots of other things you could add, but this is the basic procedure. You could put a ruffle on or lace etc etc. Notice that the ones I did were almost square. The one you showed on your side seemed pretty big, long and narrow. Also yours is counted cross stitch I think, mine were stamped cross stitch. If you have the money, you might want to get yours professionally framed, that counted cross stitch is a lot of work.

Well, Nancy Jo, I took a look at your latest picture blog. GREAT!! Those pillows are very nice. Our power has been out all day so I haven't even done my picture a day thing. The power is back and so here I am at the computer. Take care, MB

Nancy Jo...I really liked what you said in your blog about the women in the pictures being important again. For some reason that really touched me...oh and I also found a thrift store nearby, haven't gotten there yet, but it's on my to do list for next week. I'll report on the findings. You've got me excited to seek out treasures.

Jan,
Thank you for your kind comment, and I will be waiting to see if you find some good stuff at the thrift store. Now remember the thing with these stores is one day you can find more then you can carry and another nothing, so don't get discouraged on the slow days.
