I love all the knowledge I'm finding on this site! A good friend referred me, and I've been trying to work my way through the forums over the last week or so. I come to bed every night with something new to check out or try. We moved to our 10 acres almost 2 years ago, started bees last spring, and will have chickens this summer. Three girls, homeschooling, and life in general keep me busy, the same as everybody else. What amazes me is the productivity of so many of you ladies. When I read many of your posts I'm blown away with what you get done in a day!

Hi Daile..I am so glad you found us...you sound great! I wish I could have bees here...they are so so interesting..and honey!!! I am allergic or I would have some for sure. You will love having chickens too..they are one type of animal I plan to have until the day I die..just too easy and fun to watch...perfect little food making machines (I mean the eggs)
It will be fun to get to know you! Welcome!

From one Michigander to another, welcome to the board! Glad to have you here Have you all gotten much snow in the last few weeks? We're having a doozy of a day today with it coming down in the southeast part of the state. Have a good day!

Welcome Daile. When you first start out there is so much to read and catch up on. Hang in there and you'll be up to speed in no time. You're right about all the knowledge on here. If I need an answer on something, I always know that someone on here has it.

Welcome to the forum! You will find a lot of amazing women here! Unbelievable we could all come together and share in one place, thanks to Mary Jane for making it happen!

I get up to your "neck of the woods" as Al Roker would say occasionally (more in summer than in winter), our farm is North of Kent City. Please post any farmgirl happenings in your area somewhere here, I'll keep an eye out!

Again, welcome!

Welcome, Daile! Beekeeping sounds fabulous. I've always been so intrigued by those creatures, and it seems there's always more to find out. With honeybee populations sadly dwindling in so many places where they were once plentiful, what you're doing will help make Mother Earth a much happier farmgirl! Please keep us posted on your doings.

Hello Daile! Welcome!
And as I am a "wanna-bee" keeper, do you have any advice for someone just chompin' at the bit to get started? I have been looking into it and have ordered catalogs and such. Just don't know anyone around here to talk to about it, or who could give advice. If you don't mind chatting with me about it?

Daile,
I'm so excited that you are joining in! I know that you'll love it! Daile and I have been friends for years. She was the first friends to get one of the bumper stickers from the Chapter packet that I received about a year ago. I'm farmgirl waving :)!

Welcome, Daile. I hope to learn from your bee keeping experiences, as well.
