We live on a acre of beautiful land at the foothills of Mt. Rainer.
I'm a herbalist & mother of many. [img]
This is our family now, we have older children and are now grandparent to 2 beauty's and another on the way. We have homeschooled for over 19 years.
We have a large garden, grow herbs of all kinds and will be getting chickens, again & pigs this spring. We are looking at a jersey or dairy goats for small acreage.
I love being a mom,and having a full table for dinner. I also love all homemaking skills;wholefoods cooking & baking, food preservation, cooking for the freezer, sewing, quilting, family history, and anything herbal. I love to teach classes on these subjects.
I'm really looking for to getting to know other Farmgirls.

Blessings,
Kristine

Welcome Kristine! Love the picture!
I am also new to the group.
All the gals here are so sweet and welcoming. You're gonna like it here.

I used to live in WA, when I was much younger. I remember Mt. St. Helen's erupting when we lived in Seattle. It's so beautiful there, I miss it. (I mean the wilderness, not necessarily the city, though it has it's good points) I think I'll shut up now.
Nice meeting you!

Hi Kristine, Sounds like you stay very busy. I have 6 kiddos and one grandbaby; I've homeschooled for 20 years, so we've been at it quite a long time, huh! Welcome. Val

Welcome Kristine,

I spent many summers at Lake Tapps. I forget how green it is on that side of the Cascades.

Kristine, the way I started recently was to find topics that I was interested in and/or could contribute some feedback, and just join in the conversation. Ask a question that you may have, and you will likely get many responses. Pretty soon, the names will start to be familiar, and you'll remember who's who and what's what!

You can also do a search for information from past topics that might provide some insight.
Really, jump in - the water's fine!

Welcome, Kristine. My feathers aren't dry from hatching out yet myself, as a matter of fact, I'm thinking I have just begun to crack the shell and there's a WHOLE LOT MORE TO GO! (Smile!) You're interested in goats? You might want to click on the email from a new gal "Crittermama" and go down to the second page and there is a book (more or less!) writtten by me in regards to how our friends did their milk, they swear that is how they kept the "goaty" taste out. Man! Their milk tasted SO good and the "feel" was great. Well, 'nuff, I better get to bed. I do greatly fear I have become addicted to this outfit! Hang on tight, you're in for a good ride!Lucy

May the good Lord take a likin' to ya!
