I need to make one of those for me. Then perhaps I could find those little clothes pins when I want to use them.
Thanks Grace. Great idea.

Grace your wee clothespin bag is so cute. I'm been working on my design which I am coping from the vintage bag hanging in my laundry room. I'll make it out of two different pieces of fabric as a farmer's wife doing the depression might have had to do. Piece it together and make a hanger out of wire.

Oh Sara... for sure! I luv that during and post-war times women had 'Victory Gardens'... canned nearly every thing and repurposed the rest... on the sad side... lots of wonderful vintage clothing was lost to recycling or use as cleaning rags :>(
But... at least for the most part, people were not wasteful...
To this day my mom has the most crammed 'junk drawer' (as we call it)... she just can't bring herself to throw away anything... I might add, she was born during the middle of WWII in Germany and their village, which is now a rather lage city, but during the war not so large and the village was bombed to the ground on Christmas Eve.... So coming up with nothing out of the rubble... she just feels guilty if she tosses anything... even pens that no longer write! My mom is so cute.... I luv her frugalness....

Linda,,Heilbronn... on the Neckar river.... was a farming area but now lots of Hops (for beer) and vineyards as well as High Tech.
Most of our family have moved outward toward smaller Burgs like Meimsheim, Brackenheim, Fline and Leingarten... all beautiful areas.

I have only been to Frankfurt, Limburg, Brechen, Neiderbrechen, Essen, Berlin, Neuschwanstein Castle, Dresden, Munich, and several other cities I cannot remember the names of. Is that anywhere near any of these?

Daddy was stationed in Munich, Neu Ulm, Augsburg, and Heilbronn (where he met my mother). I was born in Stuttgart.
The military base in Heilbronn was deconstructed decades ago and made into low income housing for the immagrants from Easrern Europe and else where, coming into Germany.
The ironic thing is the old streets (on the Base) still have their original names like Eisenhower St., Kennady st., etc. And the stop signs are in English not German...
Everytime I go back it feels weird to drive by ....

BTW.... my "Oma" (grandmother) in Germany use to wear non-discript white aprons when in the kitchen... I can still see her kneading, rolling and cutting home made noodles on a wooden counter surface.
Oh how I wish I could be that little girl again .... I miss her but cherish the memories.
I have one of her Dirndle Aprons.(a Dirndle is the native costum for German women)... that my mom had kept all these years and gave it to me 3 years ago. I am blessed to be connected to my Oma through one of her aprons.

Linda, I mailed my mini aprons to you at lunch. There is a $1 bill stuffed down inside...who knows where, also the self addressed envelope with return postage. It says you should receive it on Tuesday ( since Monday is a holiday). The tracking # is:9500 1128 4788 7048 0730 19.
