Has anyone ever used a DR mower to clear brush?

I have a DR mower/trimmer whatever It is great to clear just about anything. It get tangled in blackberries, though. I really have a great time with it. I don't know what kind of brush you need to clear. MB. Sedro Woolley is just up 9 from me. Hello!

We have a little bit of everything on our 5 acres. We do have blackberries. We cut them down last year but they came back...we really do not want to use chemicals, so we are looking into the Dr 13 HP machine. We have brush and small alders too. Thank you for the welcome. We have horses too. We live North of Sedro Woolley close to Acme, Wa.

I love Acme. I really wanted to move up there years ago. Been to the cafe many times. Mosquito Lake road to Mt. Baker hiway is a fun little road trip. I could live in Welcome valley just because of the name. blackberries are so hard to do away with. Burning or cutting just seem to make them grow faster. Tomorrow I will go out to the barn and see just what machine I have. OK? MB

Patricia, I just getting back to you. We have the Dr mower/trimmer. It is not the big mower. It is the PRO 6HP. Does a great job. I use it in the pastures to get the thistles and the tall shrubby grass around the pond and other stuff too. If you have a lot of shrubby brush maybe the bigger mower would be better. When I bought mine they gave me an option of a trial and maybe that is what you should do. ??? Good luck MB

Thank you so much for the advice, we do still have a lot of brush here and there (wouldn't trade our little piece of land) so maybe we will try the bigger machine. And you can add a generator, can always use that these days. Two more inches here today. Talk to you again soon.
