I try not to worry, really I do...
I have a very nasty feeling that this will be the last Christmas with my paternal grandparents. My Grandma is in heart failure, she can't stabilize he breathing or her bp. My Grandpa's diabetes, Alzheimer's, and overall health has deteriorated significantly in the past 6 months. My dad is the oldest (2 of their own and they adopted my cousin as well as his 2 girls 20 yrs later, the youngest is JUST now out of the house, though the almost 19 yo is still living with them). Everyone is going to fight, there is already a lot of animosity. Dad and I are not that type, so you are probably going to throw our hands up and be done when the time comes. Though my dad, also the only one who is responsible or made anything of himself of all the children they raised (so far) is in charge of dealing with everything once they have passed.
My maternal Grandmother is going down a similar path, though I think her support system is so much better.
My mom was told last week she has "pre-cancer" in her colon. She is after a second opinion. She is, of course, really worried. She tries not to show it. Treatment involves removing a section of her colon. She has never had her abdomen opened and this, as well as being "put under", terrifies her.
In better news, I have decided to take a challenge, "100 Days of Abundance" for myself. I am excited and scared about this. It involves me moving (more of a long camping trip), with all 3 children (I homeschool), to our farm, 1.5 hrs away for the 100 days and growing as much of our food as I can (shooting for 60-70%) for the year. Matt, DH, has a really good job here and so far, we have not found a good replacement near our farm, which is what is keeping us here. Matt has never had to do much taking care of himself. We have been together since we were 16. The cabin needs some work, too, for us to be there. Just so much! But I feel like, if I never just GO, just get up there and GROW THINGS....it will never happen. I feel like this is what God wants, but I am terrified I will mess up.
Meanwhile, even though Matt has a good job, it pays well and it isn't overly challenging, he is so miserable. He wants to leave so bad. He works with a lot of people who cause work drama and stress. He also has developed asthma being there. He needs out of there so badly.
Please pray for us all? <3

Alicia, I definitely will put you in my prayers for all the above. Make sure you give every thing to God and put it in His hands then maybe you won't feel so nervous about the moving challenge or not if it doesn't feel right. I lift all your family up in prayer for healing and dealing with all the health issues your family is facing right now. Dear Lord help Alicia to know if this is the right thing for her and her husband to do in their lives. Please Lord Help her mom in finding out if she is precancerous in her colon and help her to find the second opinion she really needs. Lord I ask also that you be with her Paternal Grandparents and their health. and her Maternal grandmother as well. Be also with her Dad and all the family in what they are dealing with.
Heavenly Father only you know what is happening and how to fix it, so I am lifting them all up to you for tender loving care. In your precious name of Jesus. amen.
I have learned that to have a good friend is the purest of all God's gifts, for it is a love that has no exchange of payment. by Frances Farmer
Just follow God unquestioningly. Because you love Him so, for if you trust His judgment there is nothing you need to know.
I trust in you Jesus... |

Hi Alicia I feel especially prayfull for you about your grandparents but I also feel especially prayfull for your Matt. I work with divas and haters. It is really hard sometimes But I lean back on my faith and nobility. I was raised with strong work values. The slackers don't like it much but not going change.
Try not to worry too much. You don't need to get sick yourself. Prayers for all your grandparents and for Matt.
Hugs and kisses from the west coast.

The boys were well enough to have Christmas today! I cannot tell you how wonderful it was. Grandma even said perfect! Of course, half of the family (the half that causes drama and overall unease) didn't show. I, personally, was glad, but I worried my grandparents would be disappointed. I guess not!
Grandpa had a really hard time and was in bed most of the visit. Grandma told me today that he may have had 3 strokes in November, or one big one, since there were 3 spots on his brain when he was checked to see if he had stroked. I was worried about him. He seemed out of it. Certainly tired and in pain.
As usual, grandma was impossible to keep off her feet! She looked a bit swollen but was in wonderful spirits!
<3 Merry Christmas!!
