Hubby and I took the 54 Chevy out for a drive today. It was so much fun to take it out for a spin. Drove 10 miles into town to the grocery store and met up with my brother and his wife. SIL wanted a ride so we took a spin around town. Delayed getting home because of sick calves we just weaned. One thing I can tell you is the lights do not light up the road like the new cars do. BUT, I wouldn't trade it in for the world. I think the pickup and I are going to have many good times together. Now I just need to find a little camper to pull behind it.
Oh Kem... Lucky you... to have your '54. We use to have a '54 Chevy Bel Air... wht/blu 2-tone, 4 door... but we sold her back in 2013 We called her Christine as she was quite temperamental! ! And the gas gauge always gummed up and yes we ran out of gas because of the darn gauge not working.... I luved the big steering wheel... and the beefy sound of the horn. alas.. she whent to a good home and is being driven around Spokane WA...by an elderly gentleman who had one when he was a young man..
Enjoy your '54.... lucky you.

What a delightful way to spend a Sunday! I hope you have many happy trips in your '54 Chevy. My late father had a '39 Ford that he had restored and painted Viper Red. He loved going for a spin no the country roads whenever the sun was shining. He's been gone for 5 years now, but I still look for him to drive by and say hello.

Yes,it was fun. Sad that winter is coming. I don't think it has the best heater. Surely there will be some nice days this winter I can pull her out and take a spin. She is tucked in a shed for the winter. Glad I can keep inside.

Kem, I'm jealous . . . enjoy your sweet truck!
When my hubby and I got married 48 years ago he had a 56 Chevy station wagon, gray and white. However, we weren't in the right mind set s couple years later and traded it in for a new car. We talk many times about how we wish we still had it! CJ

CeeJay, isn't that the way it goes. My husband had a 72 Dodge Demon and would love to have it back. We sold it when our first baby arrived. I wish we could find it for him. Maybe that will be our next project.
