Isn't Marie a hoot? We plan to be in the same nursing home (or cruise ship) and act dotty. Wish I lived closer so that we can do sewing and crafts together.

I have never seen an orange iris. It is truly beautiful. I can't have irises---the deers eat them.

These are by the house and we have a fence and dogs, so they are safe.

This frilly peach iris just bloomed too.

I'm tempted to brave ticks and dig up a few of these purple ones across the road.

The fireflies are swarming down in the holler all the way up to our front yard. They look like twinkly Christmas lights.

A week ago I planted my garden. Now I have beans, peas, squash, radishes, and corn. The tomatoes look a bit scraggly.

Our home, ready for summer visitors and relaxing. I like to wave at everyone who drives by, and the dogs like to chase them.

Hurray! I have a rocker of my own! From left to right is my mother-in-law's rocker, my husband's, and mine.

Love the eclectic look of your porch Vanessa. Each rocker kinda has a personality of its own.

Let me know if I nailed it. Your Hubby's chair is simple no nonsense and strong looking. What you see is what it is.

Your MIL's rocker is modern with its unique style and practical.

Your rocker is a little old fashion but elegant. How close did I get to describing each owner?

I have one just like yours but I don't consider myself elegant. I bought it from the 2nd hand store because it was there and I liked it.

The one on the left is my MIL's. My sister-in-law bought it for her. The middle one is my husband's, and the bent wood one on the right is mine. I'm not a matchy-matchy person! Plus I've put up a few more hummingbird feeders.

My parents visited for a few days & gave their parental seal of approval. They especially loved the firefly and the deer crossing the road. A bird feeder was torn in half by a raccoon, so I'm just strewing sunflower seeds on the concrete block for a while.

Oh my, but it is hot & humid. We get a nice breeze so sitting outside is nice, but cutting grass will be a sweaty job.

A mystery squash or watermelon vine popped up a month or so ago, and has assertively spread across the front of the porch.

We are ready for the Fourth of July! I found these burnings at Big Lots. We tried to hang them above the porch, but the wind pulled them loose.
I feel for the hummingbirds - bees, wasps and ants are crowding around the feeders. Sometimes they can't get a drink!

Beautiful! I love it. If I had ever been on here I would have started on us building the road in hers. A mile and two tenths of a rutted out old logging road. Our contractor had to walk over a log across the creek to get in here. I am too old now to ever try that again. My 40 year old self sure had balls! LOL!

What a monster vine! It was spreading across the front porch, so I gave it a trellis to climb.

Sasquash just has blooms right now. When I begin to get squash I'll need to research how to freeze or can the veggies.

We discovered that this is a watermelon vine. It has taken over the front porch!
The 4 o'clocks are growing well too!
The humming bird feeders gave been moved near the cannas.
