Each Valentines Day, my sweetie gets take out from a restaurant and presents it to me and his mom (if she is with us, and being a mother's boy, she usuaLly is). This year he had our German student Mia to help him.

When I got home from church they had a pretty table set up in the sunroof with candles and a menu. We had a choice or egg or spring rolls, then egg drop or hot &sour soup, then chicken or shrimp with broccoli or sweet & sour pork with rice. We finished with a cupcake and fortune cookie. Then Mia played her violin for us. Best of all, in my sweeties opinion was leftovers were easy to pack up.

That is quite creative. Lowell and I just go out to a restaurant but not this year.

After he goes to all this trouble, I'm reminded that I need to keep him.

Wonderful news! A bathroom faucet was dripping so my husband and I decided to fix it ourselves. Usually we are like the three stooges when it comes to repairs but miracle of miracles, it is fixed!

One of our hives died over winter. I cleared out the frames today and kept 2 to extract honey. We don't have a centrifugal force extractor so I smashed it and strained it into jars. DIY!

Next month one of our daughters will be moving from Florida to try her luck in Kentucky. She has given her notice and has been applying for jobs. Hope she gets a good one, our guest room is also my sewing room.

Because of spring break, I was deputies to go with our German student to Arizona where my sister-in-law lives. I've been a homebody for so long that I wasn't enthusiastic about the trip. But now I'm here I am enjoying the different type of beauty in the southwest. Today we took a short hike in Madera Canyon.

I haven't posted anything lately but I guess everyone is busy too. My clematis is blooming and my white Lilac is almost done.

Excitement today! The pellet stove went POP and clouds of smoke filled my mother-in-law's apartment. Luckily my daughter was there and called the VFD, got my mother-in-law upstairs and herded the dogs into a room. We plan to get rid of it and will be putting in gas. The house smells like a campfire.

Tomorrow Mia leaves for Germany and her family. It has been a challenging year for her, but she said she had a great time and made many friends. She is always welcome here!

Sorry to hear about the stove incident. yicks. glad all are ok. I also collect my honey via the crush and stain method. Works great and you get the wax to use as well.

If it isn't one thing it's another. My mother-in-law has 2 cysts in her abdominal area. Tuesday June 29th she'll have surgery to remove them. She is awfully scared, so we have our church family praying for her. If you can, include Dee in your prayers too. My mom is home. She says it's hard to get around with the walker. I worry about her stepping into the bathtub - they don't have a low step shower. Mom is a "bit" stubborn, I guess that's where I get it!

On the bright side, our sunflowers are blooming and I went to a pool party and wore a swimsuit for the first Tim in years!

Vanessa, what a beautifl photo, even if your bird feeder was attached and nearly laying on its side! Rocky's been busy! LOL! When I was a between 3- 5, we lived in a small little logging town, Vernonia, Oregon, and my father had rescued this baby raccoon from the vet, paid her bills and brought her home: Cindy! She was soooo cute, but a smart little tyrant. I remember she would sit under the dinner table during dinner and grab at my feet while I sat in the high chair, I would stand up crying. My dad would also fill the kiddie pool with water and crawdads and let her have some fun. I can't believe I remember a few of those times as I was soooo young, but Daddy ended up rehoming her. She loved my dad, she would sit on his shoulders as he dinked around in the yard or the shed. It was pretty cute!

AND, sending love and prayers to Dee! xo
