Four coats of white deck paint and today I applied the 1st coat of poly-acrylic to seal and finish-only 5 more coats to go!

The painting goes quickly...I've been allowing an inordinate amount of time between coats so that it can cure properly. Seems like I have been working on this 'project' for months!

OY my aching knees-this old gal is feeling the burn! I've been working with a brush instead of a low mat roller--better control and I like the overall finish a lot more.

Can't wait to finally have it finished then I can place my antique black settee along the long wall and start hanging a few of my antique framed black and sepia toned etchings I won at auction a while ago.

I think my landing turned out pretty well--

Is it the floor that is painted or the rail or both? It looks beautiful, all of it!

Wow Mel, you sure have been busy, but the outcome is amazing. Such a nice job. Looking forward to seeing it all when finished.

It just never seems to end in this OLD house! I've been painting for 20-years....The trouble now is, I don't want anyone 'walking' on it!! I am sure that will pass, but meanwhile I tip-toe around.

Thanks for all the encouragement girls---Makes me smile from ear to ear.

Very funny Grace!

Just when I think I am 'caught' up for a while--I start looking around to see what else I can do. I gotta get out of this house more often....

Melody, it's beautiful. Your poor aching back and knees! I don't think we ever get done. We put a new floor in the dining room and my husband didn't want anyone walking on it. LOL!

Exactly Darlene!!! I know how your husband feels about any-one walking on a new floor...I am still tip-toeing around.

I had a friend who had just installed some very expensive parquet wood floor and had a guest come to dinner with 'heels' on---ruined her floor. I thought my friend would lose it. Little dents everywhere---I think I would have asked everyone to come in without shoes only socks!

I actually have abrasions on me left knee and the top of my left foot-I must favor the left side--I am left handed!!
