Back up your digital pictures! Two words for you: "Lightning strike". And "Lesson Learned".

Oh my goodness Nicole, I can't image what you are going through. Loosing my digital photos has always been my worst fear, so much so that I have everything backed up on an external hard drive, and my husband says we should have a second one that we have our daughter in Arizona store for us.
Is there any chance that your digital pictures can be retrieved off your hard drive? Although total damage is common, some PCs can survive a lightning strike but not work properly afterwards - crashes, lockups and other erratic behavior might show up after the hit. It might be worth having a professional look at the computer, more specifically the hard drive..

Oh dang it, Nicole! I am so sorry. I actually just spent this weekend putting all my pictures on my computer and then on a flash drive. I'm so glad there are reasons for my insanity. Hopefully you can find a way to retrieve them again.

Nicole, you may be able to retrieve your pictures and other documents from your hard drive provided it is not corrupt. My lap top computer crashed and I thought I lost everything until dh took my hard drive out and proceeded to transfer stuff. I was such a happy camper! Good luck!

My DH is my hero! He managed to reset the internal clock on the computer to BEFORE the storm hit! We are now backing all photos up!!! With personal photos (I've turned into my mom, lol, chasing everyone around with a camera) and photos I take for the Suburban Farmgirl Blog, there are a ton of photos each year. I once lost ALL my photos from when my dd was 2 - 3. Guess I should've learned my lesson before!
Thanks for the good vibes...I was sick at my stomach over it!

So sorry! Hugs Marly
