I just wanted to share a pic of the first sunflower to open in my garden. These aren't the really big yellow ones, but this flower is about 7 inches in diameter. There are many more to open up soon, the second one is on its way. And, yes, it has a honey bee on it . .

It's beautiful. I'm jealous, the deer ate all mine even though we have a fence around the yard.

Thanks girls, but our Creator is the artist! There are more opening up now, my hubby calls the color "burnt orange".
When I saw the seeds I decided that these were what I wanted, rather than the big yellow ones. I wasn't really interested in harvesting the seeds out of those.

These don't grow quite as tall and I think, because the flower is smaller, don't droop over so much!
Anyway, they're a nice addition to the garden . . . growing by the carrots on the side of the garden closest to the road, where folks driving by can enjoy them too.

What a beautiful fall color. Love sunflowers. I was just looking at fall fabric with sunflowers. Like I need more fabric! LOL! Well I must confess, my fabric hoarding self did buy some fall fat quarters today. All leaves though.

I don't have any sunflower fabric right now, however, when I was making lots of aprons that was a very popular print.
Unfortunately, our Walmart no longer carries the nice prints!

P.S. Darlene, I know what you mean about "needing" more fabric. I've kinda not been buying any recently because I managed to get my stash whittled down and I like it that way!
