This year we were lucky enough to get a plot in our community garden, that being said my husband loves potatoes and planted 15 plants.

We live in the city and have a basement (not so potato friendly) and no root cellar. I've heard that storing potatoes in buckets of sand over winter will keep them happy. Has anybody tried this? Any other hints.

I have never heard of this but the internet is full of ideas I'm sure. We tried to keep them in a bin in our basement last year but they didn't keep. Lots of them had to be tossed.
