I'm so excited! We got an offer on our house here in Texas last night and we accepted it. We are closing it on January 31st. I'm excited about being in Michigan with my hubby (he started work on Monday up there) and having the family back together. So hopefully he can look at some places this weekend up there. I just pray that we can find some land that we can afford. I don't care if the house is a fixer upper, in fact I would love the project. So excited I can not focus at work...

Thanks everyone! I am walking on air. My husband is working in Benton Harbor/St. Joseph so we are looking for a place within a 30 minutes of there, but really not picky on the direction. We are trying to let God lead us on this move. So far He has done a better job then I could have ever done ;)

Congratulations! Having moved 18 times now, I've been where you are and know how exciting this is. I'll keep you in my prayers that you find something up North real soon so your family can all be together.

Emily,

That's great news. I've been through that with dh working in one state and me in another. It's not fun. Congratulations.

I'm so happy for you. What an exciting time. Isn't it wonderful when we let God lead! This move I just made was completely led by Him. My house sold in one day and I found what so far has been a really nice house. Keep us posted on your journey. My sister lives in MI in the Grand Rapids area. Is that anywhere near where you'll be looking?

Congratualations Emily!

We are trying to sell our house so we can move to the country as soon as possible so I know how excited you must be. I am envious because I wish it was me.........lol

I wish you and your family the best of luck on finding your dream place in Michigan.

Update-
We are still closing on our house in Texas next week. I'm very excited about that but we don't have a place yet in Michigan. My husband has been looking with help from my dad. He is really getting discouraged and I'm starting to worry about how long I'm going to have to stay at my parent's farm with our daughter and dogs while our belongs are in storage. I think we are going to have to decide between:
a. toughing it out until the "right" place comes on the market hopefully in the spring.
b. consider what is important to us, amount of land, school districts, distance to his work, etc
c. rent an apartment for a few months and move twice while have some stuff in storage

The though of option "c" makes me sick because I hate moving and I think that it's hard on the dogs to be in an apartment. I don't like "a" either because the thought of being away from my husband for another month is heart breaking and hard on our daughter. I'm starting to lean towards "b" because it's the least gut wrencing of them.
Any thoughts? My mind is on overload with the move and I'm afraid the lack of sleep and the stress of the move (and MIL's cancer) is getting to me.
Thanks!
