by the time most of you girls read this!! We leave for Africa via Amsterdam in the morning! sooooo excited! have had three glorious days here in toledo, ohio with the 'children' and the 'grands'! we celebrated our 'late Christmas' with them. i took daughter Wednesday and Lucas to see Charlotte's Web .. that little Dakota Fanning reminds me so much of our Wednesday when she was a little girl. Wednesday and I boo-hooed several times! The most moving moment in the movie for me was when Wilbur and Templeton returned to the farm after the fair and right after Charlotte had died ... they brought Charlotte's spider egg sac back with them .. and all the animals looked together at the tattered web in the corner of the barn .. and all bowed their heads together in tribute to Charlotte. oh booooo-hoooooo!
Of course, we did a TOY STORE hit too! I read Lucas four more of the "Magic Treehouse" series books .. including the one where they go to AFRICA! (i changed the children's names in the books from Jack and Annie to "Luc and Sofi" .. used 'white out'!! We've now read 12 books in the series. I get these for him for each holiday/season/visit!!!
It was soooooo wonderful holding that precious little Sofia in my arms again. What a delightful little baby girl. She smiles constantly .. has such a sweet disposition. She is now 3-1/2 months old!
This morning ... Hank and Frank (our son-in-love) conjured up a trip (and made their RESERVATIONS) to Eastern Europe together ... TWO WEEKS AFTER we return from Africa! They will fly to Warsau, Poland .. and drive visiting holocaust death camps. NOT my kinda' vacation! But they are both profound history students .. and Hank being Jewish .. has always wanted to make the trip in homage to the millions of people killed during the holocaust.
Hank is taking me to see the building where Anne Frank and her family hid out during the war in Amsterdam .. on our way back home from Africa.
We will be home two weeks between Africa and his leaving on yet another adventure .. and I will come back up here to Toledo and spend another fun two weeks with the kids again!
GOD IS SO GOOD TO ME!
