I received a cute little plaque today from Angela Sloan. It has a pretty butterfly on it. Tomorrow, in good light a photo will be taken. Thanks Angela.

I might be a tad late this month. We just learn that my father-in-law has a terminal lung cancer and all my free time goes to my family. I'm really sorry. I will make sure to complete it as soon as I can. Hopefully, it's in progress :)

I dropped my art off in the mail today...then arrived at my mailbox to find an envelope from Lola Chella! How fun to receive one the same day I sent!

Fast forward to evening, end of the day, allow myself to open and savor my received mail art....

Be still my heart! Lola Chella, it's as if you know me! I literally cried to hold the dear fabric treasure you sent me, marked with vintage images of happy children at play!

Hold on, girls. I'm gonna get sentimental here....

I dedicated my years from 21 to 50 to being the best stay-at-home mom I could imagine. I very often fell short, but I decided early on that the key to raising happy children is to focus on building warm, happy, lasting memories. Because, we can all acknowledge, once you arrive past those child-bearing years, what you are left with is the memories, and they'd better be good ones! Can I hear an amen?!

As a child I feel I was left with very happy memories of childhood and I wanted the same for my kids. So I tried to develop traditions and activities that would be remembered. One of these is the tradition of making boats to float on large mud puddles after a good rain. We cut waxed milk cartons in half lengthwise and attached a string at the top end, then pulled them across the surface of the large puddles that would form in the orchards during our sometimes rainy years. Dressed in raincoats and galoshes, we slopped and splashed our way through the winters. The darling, sentimental fabric chosen by Lola Chella in the adorable zippered bag she sent me instantly evokes these memories, and will forever stand for all things worth preserving, and carving out time for.

Live your lives, ladies. Make them memorable. Who knows which day will be our last on this planet.

Thank you Lola Chella. God bless you immensely!

Sara

Sara, your Mail Art from Chella is beautiful. I would add one thing about making childhood memories...take a lot of photos and write notes about your adventures, as well as the cute things the kids did and said. I am glad I did this with my grand daughters, because I did not realize that most kids do not remember much from their first five years of life. My DIL saw no importance in photos, but I recorded their lives...and they enjoy looking through their photos and reading my memories of them. Sweet times.

Mine will also be mailed Monday. My car refused to start this morning. I think I see a new battery in my future.

Oh, Marilyn, I am so glad to see your post....I thought I was the only one to get it in there on the last day possible! I don't think I made the deadline to get it sent out today, but they will send it on Monday, I'm sure. I learned my lesson on this one though, and I have my Fall package all ready and waiting for a sister's name. :)

A quick note to KristiW.
I can't find the e-mail with our partners on it.. I'm really sorry because I know I had it (I've read it) but I can't find it anywhere. With all the stress happening here (going from hospital and back countless of time), I'm afraid I might have misplaced it. Is it possible to resend it back to me?
Thank you so much!
