I have been making laundry detergent for several years and really liked the results however lately the clothes are not as clean looking, any ideas what I can add to liquid home made laundry detergent? Currently I use borax, super washing soda and grated soap .
Thank you Danyel Farmgirl sister 4202 |

I use a whitener that is 4 c hot water, 2 c boiling water, 1 c hydrogen peroxide, 2 - 3 T. citric acid, 6 - 8 droppers lemon essential oil, 10 - 20 drops bergamot essential oil. Keep in a dark container. Use 1/2 -1 cup in wash. I also use this to whiten my sink.
Have you tried Epsom salt in your laundry soap recipe?

Your Summer 2017 brightener advice sounds really good here in Autumn 2020! I'm going to try it. I've used epsom salts as a fabric softener, though not recently. I switched to using wool dryer balls for that purpose. Do you find it helps to whiten? |
