i have my 2 sheep sheared and next step is washing wool. what soap have you found works best? i have always used dawn, but was told it does not do a good enough job. i have heard of using orvis paste. Anyone have anything that works well? thanks
Dawn is all that I have heard, and if it has been working for you...And anyway, seems the people who said it wasn't good enough should have offered an alternative. What kind of sheep do you have?
i was told by a mill that she used sams club brand clothes powder. went to sams club they did not have any powder. my sheep are border leichester/shetland.
I asked my friend who owns a yarn company and does a lot of her own spinning and she says that Dawn is a good way to clean it. Cuts the grease. If it's particularly dirty it may need to be skirted as well.
