Has anyone else read the book Mason-Dixon Knitting. I just got it not long ago and have really enjoyed it. It's funny and has lots of knitting projects for the home, log cabin knitting, and some good tips. I haven't been knitting long but I think its worth checking out. They also love their dishcloths!

I LOVE Mason-Dixon! I was on the waiting list at our local library when it came out and was sad when I had to return it so quickly (no renewals for items on reserve!). I just received as a gift for my birthday and was so thrilled to get it! I also love the dishcloths. There's just a lot of fun stuff in there too...great book!

I love it too! It's the best knitting book I've gotten in a long time. Not many complicated patterns, but it makes you feel like you're right in there knittinig along with them!

I also brought it; it is a good book with lots of funny things she wrote about. I might try some knitted rugs.
I wanted to make for my bathroom. I am going to knit out of two or three strands of Cotton yarn from Sugar's and cream. pinkroses.

On the peaches and creme website they have put together a collection of Mason -dixon cotton yarn. I think you get twelve balls for 15.99 plus shipping

My daughter is a beginning knitter (she's 19). Would she be able to make the dishcloths? I would love to have some of them.

I don't knit, but think I might also like it. I sew instead.

Oh yes! Sheryl-lyn, your daughter would definitely be able to knit the dishcloths as a beginning knitter. Dishcloths are just about the best beginning knitting project there is! And I don't blame you for wanting them...they're darling! Tell her she CAN do it...easy-peasy!

Hi Catherine! I am so excited about this. Evelyn (dear daughter) is making a scarf right now, but in a few days she will be done. I'll tell her it's on to a few washcloths for mom next. What kind of yarn should I get for her to make them?
Thank you for writing back!

Hi again Catherine:

Just checked out your blog (it's so much fun to read people's blogs--who knew?) Loved your home in the snow and the great picture of you and your babycakes. I cannot believe how many of us love THE PRINCESS BRIDE!!!

As you wish.... (OMG was he not the hottest of hotties?!)

(Yes, Dear Wesley was TOTALLY a cutie!)

Sugar & Cream cotton yarn is by far the best dishcloth yarn and is widely available. I just picked up a bunch at Michael's for $1.49 each and it's sometimes on sale for $0.99! It suggests knitting with a size 8 needle on the yarn label, but I use a size 7 with it to make it tighter. Dishcloths get so stretched out with use...

Thanks for the kind words about my blog! I love updating the world about our goings-on...and reading others!

Catherine :)

I'm bumping this one back up because I've been knitting the bibs out of it for my little guys, and I *LOVE* them! They are so soft and absorbent - just like a little dishcloth. Also, I finished my first ballband dishcloth. I was SO proud of it - I'd post a photo, but I gave it to my sister-in-law already. Hrmph. No worries, however, I've started on a second one already! I picked up this book at the library and just love it. What fun projects!

Thanks, Megan, for the peaches & creme website information - I'm off to see if they still have the special on...

XOXO, Libbie
