Diana your blocks are lovely, love the purple, its my daughters favorite color.
Linda I like the R/W/B, that will be really cute, I'm a sucker for polka dots, too bad they aren't showing up in the picture.

I love seeing the fabrics everyone chooses, so exciting!

Thanks Linda for starting this. I am super excited. For the BOM will we put them all together at the end for a quilt- or is it to learn a different block or two each month? The only ones I have ever done is where you make them over time and then put them together at the end.

Thank you for joining, Angie. I started this to help people who are interested in learning to quilt and those who already know how to quilt and want to try new patterns that someone else might choose. The plan is to put them together in a quilt - or use fewer and make a wall hanging or a table runner. You make them in your own choice of colors, so whatever you do is up to you.

Love your blocks girls! I have never used Batiks...very exotic looking :) I think I'll try and use my stash for this quilt. Then I can finally buy new fabric! I'm working on baby items right now so won't start these blocks for a week or so. Can't wait.

To all the people who already made a block, WOW they are so pretty!!! I made mine a bit different. I kinda went with a tic tac toe pattern. I used the sizes from the one block but only used 2 colors and put them in different places.

That's a cute variation, Beverley.

Christy - Use your stash and HAVE to buy new fabrics? Does anyone need a reason to buy new fabrics? LOL! If I live to be 100 I don't think I can use all my stash. And yet I can always find some stash to keep my current stash company. LOL!

Another rainy day here in Massachusetts, perfect day to make the scraps into my blocks. I am really enjoying the process. Thanks again Linda for starting this.

Try again time. I made my first two blocks after midnight. Not perfect, but together.
I guess the bubbly look comes from fabric underneath.???

I'm not sure why they are bubbly. They look good in those colors, too.

Wow! Love all the pictures of the blocks. Please keep posting them. They are beautiful and the diversity of each one is fun to see. I can't sew but am quite the enthuasist.

Linda, I tend to buy too much fabric when I start a new project. So I have tons of leftover. I'm still using fabric from 30 some years ago when my daughter Erin was small. I made her dresses and doll clothes. I have used some in the quilt for my newest granddaughter. The lavender background with little flowers, bottom second from the left, was from Erins easter dress in 1985 :)

Christy, isn't it funny how your mind can hold so many memories of fabrics? I was looking through a box yesterday too, and I smiled to myself as I recalled some of my very first sewing projects from the 70's. I still have those remnants, and they bring back fond memories. To anyone else, they'd just be scraps, but to me its a swimsuit coverup for my 8th grade graduation pool party, or a collared blouse with crooked buttonholes. Recycling them into grandkid projects is a fun idea.

A couple of months ago I sewed a dress for my granddaughter from a pattern I found at my mother's dated 1966!
