I just saw on Facebook that our own dear sweet Portia was killed a car accident this afternoon. I am shocked and saddened by this news. I would ask for you all to be praying for her family. They have not given out any details.

I just heard the same and I am so very saddened by the news. My very deepest condolences to this family and love to each of us who were touched by her. We here at the farm will be in touch with her family very soon.

She was a very sweet person and is with the Lord now.

MaryBeth, Those were my thoughts too. She had the most beautiful heart and I just feel so sad for her family. She will be missed by so many here too.

It is taking me a minute to digest this news. I so want to ask "are you sure? could there be a mistake?" as it is so shocking and heart breaking to hear! Ot amazes me how much she and each of you are like family! She will be missed and remembered fondly! Her family are in our prayers!

Shannon, that was my reaction; there must be some mistake. Her cheery, loving presence here will be missed. Her family is in my thoughts and prayers.

Portia, a former school teacher, had recently celebrated her birthday and updated her profile with this quote, "The influence of a good teacher can never be erased." Let it also be said, The influence of a good sister can never be erased. Again, thoughts and prayers to her family.

Its amazing how close we can feel to our sisters through this forum. This morning I am still trying to process this news. Even DH felt sad on hearing this. Portia touched so many lives on so many levels.

I am so sorry to hear this. I, too, could not believe it when Shannon posted on our henhouse page. Portia was a great farmgirl. I knew her through many swaps. She will be very sadly missed. Hugs and prayers go out to her family.

This is so hard to digest. I knew Portia through swaps, and a very caring lady. My prayers are with Don and his family. We as sister's are all hurting. So please Lord take care of our sister Portia and her family and many friends in your loving arms. In Gods Name Amen

Such a tragic loss for us, but a precious gain for Heaven! She was such a sweet, vibrant, giving lady. My prayers to her family in this difficult time! She will be greatly missed by her "sisters"!

I am doing the same thing Kelly. I saw it on her Face Book page. I am stunned! I was so lucky to have her as a swap partner many times!! and prayer partner. I have some of her sweet art cards and atcs.

This was such a shock. Swap partners, email exchanges, she has been so nice to me. She had recently become our card swap leader. I am so sad. What a great tribute, that so many of us enjoyed knowing her. Every time I asked a question, she very nicely answered. She was and is an angel.

It is so sad to know someone as a sister and to lose her this way or in anyway, my prayers go out to the family.

Portia was a very special person. This news is just devastating, and my heart breaks for her family. I can't believe she's gone.
