Hi Everyone,
I finally joined! I live in Massachusetts with my Alaskan Malamute. I am an avid outdoorsy person and am hoping to move to Maine within the next year or two. Maine would afford me the ability to have more land to have chickens, and grow more of my own food.
I also own a 1964 Vintage camper and LOVE camping again. I have been performing minor upkeep work on her. The camper allows my Malamute to come with me.
Looking forward to getting involved with like minded women!

Hi Julie, welcome from Minnesota. We had a malamute for 12 years. Wonderful dog. He was put to sleep because of an inoperable tumor. I love camping too. Minnesota is a lot like Maine without the ocean. We have wonderful forests and also Lake Superior and the headwaters of the Mississippi River. Glad to have you.

Welcome Julie from way down here in Sunny Florida!! I am so glad to meet you and hear about your interests. Camping in vintage trailers is wildly popular at MJF so you will have to post some photos of your traveling home when you take off for a vacation. Keep us posted on your plans to move to Maine. There are several Farmgirls up there so maybe you will be able to meet a few of them.

Welcome Jules! I'm so happy you stopped by to introduce yourself. If you love camping, or "glamping" as we like to call it, we have a dedicated Facebook group called Glampers on the Loose that you're welcome to join. There are so many amazing gals out there sharing the camping love.

Welcome Julie! I second what Kristi said, come join us over on Glampers on the Loose.
Hope your move to Maine happens sooner rather than later. More land, more chickens and more of your own homegrown food--it doesn't get any better than that.

Welcome to the group Jules! I have an Alaskan Malamute as well! She is such a big girl and doesn't fit in our camper, so when we take her along we use a huge tent! Good luck with your move to Maine! It will be awesome to have more land, chickens, and your own food! I'm excited to see you around the farm!

Welcome Jules. I sure enjoy the area around Sandwich, MA. What a wonderful town and the Sandwich Glass Museum there is so interesting. The Daniel Webster Inn is so cozy and the food delicious. The town has the best thrift store thanks to the generosity of the Church ladies donations. What beauty in MA and it is so close to so many neighboring states that are fun to visit too. I have an aunt that lives in Woodstock, CT and that area is beautiful as well. Enjoy the sisterhood! How fun to explore and be adventurous. Here is a photo of Tubbs Hill I hiked a few days ago in Coeur d'Alene, ID a place we moved to after attending a Farm girl event. It inspired me to bring husband to the area and voila, we moved and love it here. Anything can happen! Annie .jpg?v 90974179)

Hi Amy, I am a Massachusetts girl always, but Maine is my soul! Nervous about the selling, buying, however excited to have some open space. Another year before I can start to earnestly look for land. |
