Well, I can tell you that because of MaryJane, our family went all organic in what we eat six years ago or so. After that, we all feel great, are never sick, and can really feel it when we have a meal or a few days of "falling off the organic wagon".
We have chickens. A small flock, but they are about two and a half years old. When they ran out of feed, my dh started buying cheaper feed at a store near his work.
Chickens stopped laying eggs. No matter what. Went to a more expensive feed, same thing. Very few eggs.
This winter, I told him to buy organic. He is so picky about what we eat, how we need organic, but if we are eating eggs that aren't from organically fed chickens they aren't organic eggs.
Switched the food. We have had eggs all winter, even when my friends' flocks egg production slowed way down (they don't feed organic). Now that spring is on the way, they are all laying like crazy, huge eggs. Happy chickens!
It just goes to show...we are ALL what we eat.
Do you feed your hens organic feed? I also feed them organic snacks like kale, sweet potatoes, and the occasional bowl of oatmeal.
What's your take on organic and farm animals? Have you seen a difference, too?
