My beautiful niece just opened up a web store with beautiful re-enactment clothing from the Pre-1840 Mountain Man Period. If you are interested in this period, please visit her site at
My brother who lives in Idaho goes to black-powder events and the Rendezvous every year. Last year he requested a Voyageur cap, which I was able to knit up for him. His wife has made him some really wonderful costumes for their events. What a fun hobby! I will pass this web address along to him.

Thanks, girls! It is such a fun hobby. We really do have a blast. Marilyn, we go to quite a few Rendezvous in Idaho. Our favorite is the Fort Henry Rendezvous in Rexburg, Id. I probably know your brother. :)
So...I've done middle ages reenacting and I just love researching and recreating different times in history, could you point me to more info on this particular type of reenacting? thanks!
