Well, Thrusday night I started getting sick; or maybe Wed.
I thought it was a cold; but now I think it is the flu.
I am Diabetic and have high blood pressure and sevral other conditons and diseases.
I have arthiris everywhere.
So, I wasn't for sure if I was sick or just the regular aches and pains.
I didn't even get the kitchen clean or the living room.
But, I don't think it matters as we weren't expeciting company and I don't think anyone wants to come and get sick too.
Oh well, I did get my Applesaucecake baked and in the freezer before I got sick..

Hope everyone else is well. and don't get the flu/ cold.?
I also took the flu shot. Go figure. pinkroses.

I'll pray for you. Hopefully the bug will be short-lived and you'll be up and going to celebrate Christmas. Of course, you'll probably have to clean up just to begin to "feel like yourself" again. I know I always do .

My dad had a flu shot one year, and got sick as a dog right afterward. Maybe it was a reaction to the shot? I hope you ae feeling better soon. Frannie is right- when you are sick your blood sugar can go haywire. Get lots of rest and keep your fluids up!

Oh gosh, Sheila, I'm sorry to hear you're sick. It's hard enough being sick any OTHER time of the year, but at Christmastime, it's the pits! Take special care of yourself and hopefully you'll be better before jolly ole St. Nick arrives!

Hi Sheila,
I'm so sorry your not feeling well. Don't worry about the house there will be time enough for that later. Do you have any peppermint? My oldest daughter is diabetic and she wears a pump, so the first thing we do is turn the pump down and reach for the peppermint tea. It settles her tummy without adding extra carbs. Don't forget to watch your ketones which can be more important that watching your glucose level. ;)
As for the flu shot, it only protects against certain strains of flu, and there are so many mutations, it's not an absolute solution. Not to mention whats in it that you may not want in your body that stresses our immune systems. We have autoimmune disorders so we avoid them like the plague. :(

Cuddle up with a fluffy blankie and a movie. Hope you feel better soon. :)

Mu son-in-law, who is a pastor so he cannot slow down this time of year, got the flu last week. And he is a diabetic. One evening, he felt pretty bad but pressed on only to get home and discover his blood sugar was 600. The hightest since he was diagnosed in his teens. I think when a diabetic gets sick, it is even more complicated to get back on one's feet, and I hope you are doing better! I feel for you!

Thank goodness I am on the mend.
Thank you all for the prayers.
I woke up this morning feeling better than I had in days.
even better than before I had the flu.
I have alot of different conditions and diseases.
I am glad I had taken the flu shot and had the pain medation. that helped along with your thoughts and prayers. Praise God.
I hope every one had a Merry Christmas. We are having rain this morning; but at least it isn't heavy rain.
Again thank you for your pryers. pinkroses.
