Hi everybody. Thought I'd come up here and introduce myself seeing as how I'd already started posting on a couple of topics....I'm so glad that I found the magazine and now this website :)

My name is Erin and I'm a 30 year old farmgirl in the SE corner of New Mexico. I'm the wife to David, an Oilfield Consultant and the mother of Cy, my 7 year old son and Mimi, my 4 year old daughter.

Currently we live on 1 acre right outside the city but we recently bought 400 acres about 30 miles away and are hoping to move this fall.

We raise Navajo Churro and Western Whiteface Sheep. We also have 3 dogs, 1 donkey and 2 ducks and are hoping to add some chickens here in the next couple of weeks.

We homeschool, spin and weave, make our own butter (I want a small cow so that I have my own milk to work with) garden and can, make our own herbal products among other things.

Anyway, am so thrilled to find this website and hope to share and learn with everybody :)

Thanks for the welcome everybody :)

Kim, do you have a favorite place in New Mexico? We've lived all over the place but everytime we leave the desert calls us back and we end up coming home. HOME...such a lovely word.

Nicol, I wasn't to sure that I wanted sheep until the day that a friend (she started out as my weaving teacher and now is she one of my dearest friends) showed up on my doorstep with one of her older ewes and 2 lambs (one ewe and one ram) and said Here, ya go!!!! I'm now in the process of buying the remainder of her flock and I can't imagine not having them.

But once in while the odd thing happens,
Once in a while the dream comes true,
And the whole pattern of life is altered,
Once in a while the moon turns blue.

I'll have to dig through my vacation photos. It was when I was married and my ex-husband and I drove along 40 that parallels route 66. Galup was pretty and so was Tucumcari.
