Alicia here's my top 3 gardening tips.
#1: Only have the size of garden or number of containers you can tend to and hold on to your joy of gardening.
#2: Plant what you truly love; enjoy eating, cooking, & preserving; and to use in crafting.
#3: Plant enough to share with others and the wild life in your garden. Can't forget the birds, bees, and butterflies.
I'm looking forward to hearing from our FarmGirl gardeners. One thing about gardening is there is always something new to learn.

1. Know your zones and planting calendar. It will not do you any good to plant early, if a frost comes and kills it! 2. Be familiar with companion planting. Some plants need extra nutrients that others put in the soil... yet there are others that will compete for that nutrient.... 3. Familiarize yourself with the bugs you will/might see. Some are harmful, yet others are beneficial. For example there is a type of wasp that will lay its eggs to feed off of hornworms that could be destroying your tomato plants!
