So, a few years ago, I came home to my gift closet door broken down (literally off the hinges) and all the stocking stuffers devoured, with a hyper, hiding doggie who knew she was in big trouble. Ever since, we have "hung" the bag of stocking stuffers up in the closet, Yogi Bear style.
The other day, I came home and noticed my front Christmas lights were unplugged so I went around to plug them in. I glanced in the window at something that caught my eye. That's when I noticed that the cat was acting "funny".
Mittens the cat is officially on the naughty list. She broke into the closet, climbed the shelf, broke the hanger the bag was on, pulled out the bag of stocking stuffers throwing them all over the room, and tore open the package that contained her catnip mouse. She was caught red-pawed and (so embarrassing for her)- high on catnip! Santa Paws will now be bringing her coal. The worst part is we blamed the dog first!

Nicole, sorry, I had to laugh only because this morning I found several Christmas ornaments under the bed. Gracie, my cat, drug them there.
When I said, 'What is this???', she took off running. LOL

Nicole,
This makes me think of a male friend who had been divorced for years and after lots of dating had found the right lady. She had cats and he had only had dogs for pets.
Their first Christmas officially together, he thought he'd score some serious points by putting some wrapped Christmas presents under the tree for the cats, and slipped them in amongst the other gifts as they went off to midnight Mass Christmas eve.
They came home to a demolished tree, two STONED cats and one cat mom who was very angry at first and then quickly not angry when she found out what her honey had done for the kitties. He simply did not know what catnip does to some cats, and he declared them to be "mean drunks"!

I guess we just have to put up with animal mischief. When my so got a 7-month-old Alaskan malamute I came home one day and found he just tore one of my brand new knee high leather boots in half. He'just lucky I love animals. He lived a good long life.
