I just attempted homemade toothpaste with just coconut oil and baking soda. It made my teeth feel very clean! The taste wasn't that great, could probably benefit from adding peppermint oil but didn't have it on hand. I'll continue to use this for a while and see how my teeth do.
That's what I use, Libby!!! I love my homemade toothpaste! I use equal parts coconut oil and baking soda, then mix in peppermint EXTRACT for extra freshness! I store it on my counter in an old pimiento jar, and I scoop it out with a little wooden spoon like the ones you get with ice cream treats. I use a little rubber band around the rim of the jar to "snap" my spoon to the side of the jar - SO convenient! I've been using it for a while now, and to be honest, my teeth are much whiter than they were using whitening toothpaste! I'm so excited you've discovered it for yourself! Isn't it great trying new things like this? I love it! Kudos to you!! Hugs - Nini

I use the same thing! The grittiness and saltiness of the baking soda can take some time to tolerate. I agree with both of y'all...my teeth feel so clean after.
Nini, I also keep mine in a little pimento jar. Great minds think alike!!!

That's awesome! We love our homemade toothpaste over here. I add a little bit of powdered xylitol to make it take better so my kids will be willing to use it and I flavor it with essential oils too
