Hey all. I am hoping there is a garlic expert out there. I planted garlic in the spring, and I am wondering if I should leave it in the ground over winter or dig it up before the ground freezes? It seems to have not "sized up" as much as I would like, and I am thinking it will continue to grow in spring if I leave it in. Thoughts?
You'll need to dig them up, break apart the cloves and plant each one of them again this fall 2 to 3 inches apart, root point down, otherwise you won't get distinct bulbs. If you replant them in good, fertile soil they should size up and next August you'll have six times as much!!
