I know that it's not reached any of you yet, but I wanted to send big hugs and wishes for all of you to be safe. I'm unsure from listening to our local weather goons if it's going to be a really bad storm or not so much. Weather is fickle that way. But all of you are dear and I am thinkin' about ya. Sounds like it may make land by Sunday? Have emergency plans and be safe <3 (we really need a heart emoticon)

Not sure it is going to hit the coast or not, but I know the coast of SC is already getting flooded, and we have more rain coming starting this afternoon through Sunday night or Monday. At least one person has already died from the flooding. Please please be safe everyone!

Here in SE PA we are having torrential rain, but I'm not sure if this is the last of the first system, or the first of Joaquin.....Yesterday was warm and humid and today is FALL!!!

Looks like it is missing us. Thank goodness, as we had enough with Storm Sandy. We are getting some cold, wet, windy stuff this weekend. I am catching up on laundry, canning pears and apples, and have the wood burning stove on for the first of the season. Hope to finish knitting a sweater this weekend...it's been a crazy week and want to relax a bit!

Hopefully other farmgirls in the stormy weather are as safe and cozy warm as I am!

Farmgirl Hugs,
Nicole

I'm glad that it's wandered away from the coast. Sounds like a lovely weekend to knit and make cozy :)

We are flooding here. Not our house thankfully, but the streets. Our backyard is about 18 feet to the fence, and so far it is up three to four feet. From now until tomorrow evening, we are suppose to get another fifteen inches, then who knows how much on Sunday night and Monday. And we are not even really getting hit by the hurricane!!! Continuing to pray for everyone!

Our governor here has already called for a state of emergency here. The winds are bad here and the rain. We have trees down and flooded roads.
The last I heard they expected it to turn out to sea.

Praying for safety!

My brother lives near Charlotte, NC as do some of his kids (grown and married). His daughter-in-law was saying they are getting tons and tons of rain. Haven't heard anything else, yet.

PRAYERS!

We walked along the battery in Charleston just last November when we were on vacation at Hilton Head and up for the day and to see what's become of such a beautiful historic city just breaks my heart. But, they are not bearing the brunt of it like poor Columbia.

Hopefully, the dams will hold until the water recedes-My heart goes out to all South Carolinian's and I hope recovery will be swift.

Oh, the pictures on the News look horrific. Praying for ALL to find shelter, food and warmth...and no more loss of life.
