ok, got back home from spending the last 2 weeks in Idaho and WA.... O.D. on grandkids activity,, got a cold and finally muddled through the last 2 weeks of mail, laundry and other suzi homemaker chores,,, I thought,,, now would be a good time to download Windows 10...
Have I lost my mind! OMGeeeepers! I am so lost,,, can't find half my icons (tiles)... totally different operating system... some how I now have to type in 'hotmail' or yahoo' to get to the 'sign-in'... and I nearly pulled my hair out when I tried to get into the MJF forum,,, it kept telling me to hit retry or cancel... and we did that for about 7 tries.. so this last time I had my cursor ready to click on any word to get in before the screen vanished again... I am so frustrated... wished I had not uploaded W-10... oh well,,, I know I will eventually figure it out,,, but dang,,, I can't get into my email accounts or even on the web with out having to hunt down 'tiles' and then click and then go through the/a list in search of what I want... Why oh why couldn't we leave well enough alone,, and just have the little icon thingies lined up neatly off to one side,,, you just clicked on it and Voila! there you are, in the site you want. And as for all those 'extra options'... I don't need or use them... I am old school... 
Rant Rant Rant.... I need a big bottle of cold med or wine... either works for me (heeheehee) to get me through this... or a teenager! lol!

Oh boy! Now I just can't wait to get my copy of Window 10. My favorite thing to do online is watching downloads. Yep, nothing more entertaining than that. I am lucky I have a little brother with his own computer systems consulting company. Here is a link to his website:

Windows 10 has gone very smooth for me.--well almost---I cannot upload any photos from my camera as I used to. Everything else was pretty much the same--I had Windows 8.1 if that makes a difference. Just some different graphics but I NEED to upload my pictures SOON.

OK,,, day 3 and I am still frustrated...
Somethings I have figured out,,, but dang... why do I have to take so many steps to complete a simple task...
Oh and Marybeth,,, yep,,, my camera can't seem to download pics either... and I have a gazillion vacation pictures I wanted to share (and bore you all to tears with)...with the world!!!
I so need a teenager to get me through this...
As for un-doing,,, changing back to Windows 8,, I am almost afraid... I might lose some of or all of my stuff... so I will have to go down the mountain to Fresno and visit "Best Buys, Geek Squad"... yes, that is their name...
SO for now I will have to figure a way to get my pics from my camera... maybe I can take the camera to Costco,,, and have them put on a memory stick... then bring the stick home and download the pics...
I thought computers were suppose to make our lives easier!

I don't fully understand Windows 10 and it does take more steps to do things. I went to bed last night with no idea where to find my Google G Mail, Word, all my short cuts including MJF. Woke up this morning and they were all on the screen and everything intact. I said a prayer of thanks. That's as far as I have gotten in exploring Windows 10. Almost afraid to do anything that might undo it all.
I guess I will get used to it but I really miss the old one.

I am still not happy with Windows 10,,, but I am learning to deal with it... I finally got Pinterest to load,,, but still cannot get my camera to download my photos... uuggh!
I just seams much slower,,, and I do not need 3 ways to do anything... I still like 'simple'...
I know, quit my whining and put my big girl panties on!

I have Windows 7 and still love it. Don't fix what isn't broke, right?? BUT -- I need a new laptop and am putting it off because they all come with Windows 10. And I don't want Windows 10 after hearing all the problems. So - I'm hanging on to my current laptop until it dies.

My laptop is 5 years old and has Windows 7. So far, it still works great! So, I'm not in a hurry for anything new. My hubby had to upgrade from his desktop PC when Windows XP stopped support over a year ago. Bought him a laptop with Windows 8, but he doesn't do much other than search websites and do emails.
So, I'm playing the waiting game! I doubt I'll try to download it onto current laptop anyway!

CJ – that's my stand, too. my laptop is also about 5 to 5-1/2 Years old so I'm in no hurry unless it stops working completely.

I have toyed with the idea of seeing if Walmart/Best Buys/Office Depot have any last season laptops (Windows 8) that they are clearing out...
then I would just park this one and use only as a back up if something happens...
Another thing I don't like about Windows 10,,, is I can't see if I am in a secure site... my old system had ' https' if it was secured.. this new system doesn't display the 'htt'p in the top box... uugh!
and today my 'favorites' disappeared,,, I was finally able to get it back,,, just before getting ready to toss my computer out the window!

ok,, I un-installed Windows 10 and re-installed Windows 8.1...
My sanity has returned... Whew..
I really did try, and gave it 8 days ... but W.10 and I just were not compatible...
Now I can down load my photos and bore you all to tears! Whoot Whoot!

I am afraid to install Windows 10. My computer keeps prompting me to and I keep ignoring it!!!

I hate Windows 8! Quiltee is right! Windows 7 is great and Windows XP was great too! My God-Son is on the Geek squad so I will have help. Mary Beth you need to re-load the software that came with your camera to Windows 10.

Well Ladies, I installed windows 10 a few days ago. Got frustrated. Couldn't find anything. Then the next several hours everything was there. Still learning all this crazy tech. stuff for a senior citizen. Theses tech companies need to think about us(meaning older people who have not grown up with high tech gadgets. I like similar things but deal with all this fancy stuff.

life is to short to be frustrated over Windows 10,,, so I am happy to say, going back to windows 8 is great... but I still plan to enjoy a glass of wine and a lot of chocolate! lol!

I finally got my pics uploaded. My computer itself recognized my camera but windows 10 didn't. I just added a device (the camera) and now I have pics. YAY!!!
Taken yesterday in front of the house and uploaded into my Windows 10 computer. yay! AGAIN.
I do like Windows 10 just like Windows 8.1 just rearranged a bit. LOL
