Winnie (Red Tractor Girl) is getting ready for Fall with her beautiful candles, and that gave me the idea to start a Fall Season Table Runner Swap. The fall season is versatile - general season-changing leaves and the Halloween and Thanksgiving holidays are all possibilities - you can even make a runner that is reversible so two themes/holidays are covered.

You will make one table runner to swap with one partner. Show us your creativity. I know we have some very creative gals here. When partners are posted, please contact your partner.

Here's a link to lots of free and easy patterns: http://www.craftsy.com/patterns/quilting?secondaryItemType=Table%20Accessory&sortBy=price
And a link to Pinterest:
https://www.pinterest.com/search/pins/?q=no%20sew%20table%20runner

If you want a copy of the 10-minute (called 1 hour sometimes) table runner pattern just send me an email.

When you sign up, please send me your name/address/phone, and I will send the info to the partners. I will only use the phone number if you are AWOL.

Signups start: August 3
Signups end: August 24 (I must have your name/address/phone information by this date)
Partners Posted and email sent: August 25
Mail out by: September 1

Start making your table runner now, so you don't have to rush to complete it by the mail-out date.

I hope you decide to join in!
We have an uneven number of swappers, so I just went down the list and you send to a different person than you receive from:
Linda Olivera send to Denise Ann Christiansen
Marilyn Godfrey send to Maryellen Benton
Maryellen Benton send to Shannon Hudson
Shannon Hudson send to Linda Olivera
Denise Ann Christiansen send to Marilyn Godfrey

I will send out the address of your swappee. Thanks for participating.

I'm also thinking about Winter/Christmas and Valentines/St.Pats/Spring themed swaps.

Linda, this swap sounds like a great idea! If I could sew better, I would join, but alas, I am not. I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with and I hope lots of photos get posted!!

You don't have to be an expert sewer. I can send you the 1-hour table runner pattern and you can do a great runner. Or other ideas I have. You can even do non-sewn runners. Please just think about it?

Because I think this is such a neat idea, I wanted to throw a couple other ideas out for the non sewers.... you can always crochet or knit, for example: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/abundance-table-runner or here is a no-sew idea - http://www.everydayhomeblog.com/2013/09/no-sew-fall-leaf-runner.html You could also stitch together doilies, or yo-yos... or even make one out of burlap that you stencil or embellish.

Thanks, Shannon. Great ideas! There are lots of tablerunners on Ravelry - both knit and crochet.

Put my name in the pot please. If you do not sew there is a product called Heat Bond. Wal Mart carries it. It comes as a roll and is in a narrow bag so it hangs near the other sewing notions. There is a light weight for sewing(it is less temperamental than wonder under) and the heavier weight to iron on. All you do is iron some onto the back of your fabrics that you will cut your leaves, pumpkins, etc. From. Let it cool just a minute draw or free hand cut your shapes, peel the paper backing off and position on your table runner. After you get all of your pieces where you want them, iron. The directions are probably on the bag or paper. Then if you want to add some glam, Alene make a fabric glue that works great. Hope this helps.

Linda - I had to laugh at your last comment to me.... I am guessing autocorrect changed busy to easy ;) With that said, please add me to the list! I am not a Halloween person at all, but enjoy Fall and Thanksgiving, so I would like to give this swap a whirl. Thanks :) I think you already have my address and phone number (maybe not the latter), but I will send it to you just in case :)

Partners have been posted. Please NOTE, however, that because there were only 5 of us, you will send to one farmgirl and receive from another. Please post pictures when you receive your runner. And remember, tucks are not required.

ENJOY!

I received my Fall table runner from Shannon today. I love it, Shannon. And she tucked in a bag of candy corn. That isn't in the picture - anyone know why? LOL!

Thanks, Shannon

Oh, Shannon - it is plenty long. I have 2 square tables side by side in my dining room and it fits great. I'll take a picture to send you when my sewing machine is put away. LOL!

Thank you again!

Linda, I know why the candy corn is not in the photo. Hadlee wanted me to buy a bag for my four year old class. I told her they are lively enough as is.

Thank you Denise Ann for the package I received from you today. I was driving to see my husband in the hospital, and my granddaughter asked to open it for me. We both oohed and aahed over the cute table runners and tucks. Thank you so much.

So glad you like the table runner, Denise. I had to decide how to quilt it since the patterns didn't line up on both sides. I hope you can use it for both Halloween and Fall.

Linda,
You did a great job! I can use it for sure, if I don't get the sewing machine off the dining room table (who knows) I can use it on my coffee table, it would be cute in either place.

Thank you!

LOL! Funny thing - that's where MY sewing machine is, too! I have a craft event coming up in early Oct and will be gone a week in between so am trying to finish some more items that will hopefully sell. LOL! So - the dining room is a sewing room right now.
