Our year has been rough for gardening with so much rain. Even the farm crops have failed or not been able to be planted. I wish I could send some of this wet to other people who need it. I am thankful that my flowers, which cannot be eaten for shame, are doing well. They are smiling and cheerful little pleasures that greet me when I am out and about in our yard.

We have the same thing going on here in IL. It has been a exceptionally wet and humid summer here. The rain started mid-spring and haven't taken much of a break since then. Everything is flourishing in my yard except for my phlox. They have a bad case of powdery mildew that no spray can get rid of.

Oh well, it beats the devastating effects of drought! I do hope the moisture heads out now to those who need it.

It has been a feast or famine summer as far as rain goes! We're drowning here, but I only have a couple of veggie plants in pots, so it's not a problem for them. The rest of my yard, though is overwhelmed with weeds. I simply can't keep up with them!

Happy Day!
