Gooseberry bushes as far as I know are self pollinating. So you should be fine with just the one.

Thank you. I am trying to slowly add to my berries and want to be on the right path. I planted blueberries and made sure they were self fertilizing kind, and ninga berries, so may be no fruit this year. But hopefully next year.
I had 2 gooseberry bushes back in Spokane, 1 with green berries and the other with reddish colored berries... I luv them, but do watch out for the thorns when you are picking the berries as well as pruning the bushes. Enjoy...

I don't know anything about the pollination process, but I do know my parents had a long row of bushes on our farm. We picked and ate the berries. Another farmer friend, at one time, paid me money to pick enough for his wife to make a pie! I thought I was in heaven with that money! CJ
