I remember my mom collecting S&H Green stamps as well as the Blue Chip stamps... Look what I found while out junktiquing..
I got my very 1st vacuum cleaner, a 'Hoover Convertable' (I still have & use it)... I begged off and collected 54 books of Blue Chip stamps to buy it,,, just in time as I got married a few months later.

Oh my goodness, what a find! My mom collected yellow stamps and I remember going to the redemption store with her. I can see it in my head as clear as day! Great memories, thanks, Grace!

I remember my parents collecting S&H stamps too. We would carefully track how many we had and go through the catalog to find out what we could get each time we went out to the store in Joliet, IL.
Glad you have a hearty product from those days! Dawn in IL |

It was my job as a kid to efficiently and effectively paste the stamps into the book. I kept track of the 1 point ones very carefully because that page was the most difficult to fill.

I remember the S&H Stamps and putting them into the books for my mother.
I have a collection of iced tea glasses, goblets, and water/tea pitchers that came with Griffin Tea. Also an ice bowl, juice glasses, sugar & creamer. It's the frosted grape pattern with gold rim. What was once a give-away is now a vintage collectable.

We collected and used S&H stamps too. I loved putting them in the books for my Mom and looking through the catalogue of what you could trade them for. I still have a silver chest Mom used with her stamps to keep some family silver in. Just as good as new!

Mom collected S&H green stamps and gold bond stamps also. I collected the S&H Green stamps. I remember trading them in for a diaper pail, diapers and a crib sheet. I was so proud of getting something for my first child. Thanks for the memory.

I also remember, "Plaid" and "Thrifty" stamps... one was orange in color and the other was yellow... but I don't think they were as successful as S&H or Blue Chip... We got them from the market and the gas station....

These days you collect points and I don't believe that is as much fun. Also the stuff you can get with points is not what I particularly want. Oh for the old days!

Yeah. I think I miss actually collecting and pasting in the stamps. Kind of the feel of your hands touching and collecting things. Kind of like real books. (as opposed to my NOOK) Then there is the satisfaction of looking through a paper catalog and picking out the things you are saving for.

Oh, I remember those. It really was a family activity, collecting stamps and picking out goodies. Thanks for the memories!
