Got a little help from my youngest getting the scarecrow up. She made sure we got the bottom in the back and the hat on straight. The body lost something in the child-size apron she was determined our lady should wear. I guess that makes it a woman-child scarecrow.

Sounds adorable. I'd love to see the picture. Marly

That is one darn clever scarecrow, with an apron no less. Clever daughter too. Adorable. We have a scarecrow contest around Halloween at one of the farm restaurants outside of town. I'll bet she would win. Good job!

We used a pair of stretch pants and a white knife shirt to make a body. Tied the pants to a post and slipped the shirt, followed by the skirt over the post. Since the clothes were adult sixe, and the apron child sized, we cut a shoulder seam on the apron and tied it on. Using rope, we tied the hat and the pillow case with the face my daughter drew to the pants, and there we had our scarecrow. She sits just off the main road where everyone going by can see her. Mother-daughter projects can be so much fun.

Really cute! Is the scarecrow lady helping in the garden? Marly

The drought has done a good job of keeping the plants in check, and the rabbits don't seem to even notice her. We don't have a problem with crows though.
