Hi! I'm a new member and I wanted to introduce myself. My name is Caitlin and I live in Southern Indiana. I just moved back home from Texas and I thought this would be a good way to align my new found hobbies with meeting other women who also enjoy my hobbies.
Hopefully I can get the hang of all this soon!! |

Welcome, Caitlin. I'm a crazy dog mom, too! What kind of fur babies do you have, and how many?

Thank you everyone!I'm excited to be here!
I have a German Shepherd/Husky mix named Zoey and a Spaniel mix named Sadie. Both my beautiful rescues. We have a pretty awesome bachelorette pad going on here!
All my hobbies are pretty new. I picked them up while I was going through my divorce to keep me sane-although some would say I've gone off the edge! lol
I run with my dog Zoey, we do lots of 5ks together and it's such a great way to build that connection together since she is a working dog.
I also have picked up gardening. I have a big garden at my parents place since they have more land, but I have some veggie and herb pots going on my patio at my house. First time gardener and I have loved very minute so far!
I'm currently working on worm farming. I'm attempting to go as green as possible while renting and it seemed like an easy way to compost! So far it's been a huge learning experience.
I also blog! I have lots of stories about my adventures with my girls. They are crazy and I always have something to write about. Feel free to check it out. It's very new, but I'm hoping to add more as I go on! www.justagirlandherdog.weebly.com
I sew and scrapbook as well. I go once a month to scrapclub with my momma which I love!
I'm so excited to start learning how to do new things! I was very dependent in my marriage (stay at home wife) and I have discovered being self-sufficient has been a huge self-esteem boost!

I am SO behind on my scrapbooking! Like, 3 yrs. Yikes!
My 13 YO daughter tried her hand at worm farming. She had them for about a month and a half. I would always forget to ask her how they were doing and I think she forgot for awhile. Yesterday she went down to check on them and it's like they DISAPPEARED! Strange thing is my mom got her started with some from HER first worm raising project and same thing happened to her???? What could make them totally disappear? I know you are learning, too but thought you might know.
We have a German Shepherd, Araya, she is 7 mom old and pretty much spoiled. :)

DandeeRose I'm on a vermicomposting group on Facebook and basically if conditions for the worms aren't right they will escape. That could be anything from too hot, too wet, or not enough water or air. I have mine in a tub and in the shade outside. So far I have kept most of mine, but it takes a few days for them to settle in. I was told to put some worm "soul food" in their bucket to entice them to stay.
Thank you everyone!

Hi Caitlin!
Welcome! I used to live in Texas, where I was born. Now I am in Connecticut.
I have a German Shephard/Husky mix, too! I would love to see a photo of yours! We also have a wee dog named Pip. Both are rescues. Love your farmgirl id name!
I am also a blogger for MaryJane, and since you mentioned worm farming, you might want to take a peek at a blog post I did recently on building a worm farm. Here is the link: http://www.farmgirlbloggers.com/6657#more-6657
Glad to have you here! See ya around the chatroom!

Thanks Nicole! I'll have to check your blog out!
I just love my pups as I'm sure do you as well. They are just so full of life and energy.
Hopefully my picture shows, but here's my two girls and I. If not, I also have them posted on my blog :)
