This post marks my 1997th post in MJF - and 1997 happens to be the year I graduated from high school.
Any other farmgals brave enough to tell us what year they graduated? ;)

I graduated in 1967, making me one of the seniors of the group. My high school class was 17 people.

Aw, this is fun! :) Susan, my grad class was 335 and I thought that was a pretty small class. My mother's grad class (school not much farther down the road) had been almost 1000. Can you imagine? My hubby though came from a smaller school (grad class of 80ish students) and he said he knew every single person in his class and most the kids in the school at the time. I didn't know the two kids sitting next to me when we were at graduation.

I graduated in 2001 from Geneva High School in Geneva Illinois. I suppose I should say "Go Vikings!" but really I was only there my senior year, and I was much more interested in ceramics and studio art than sports. I made friends there, but none that were lasting. That was the third high school I went to (due to moving around), and I don't know how many were in my graduating class. Probably not that many by today's public school standards, but I came from a class of 15 my junior year, so it seemed like a lot to me!

I really hate to say when I graduated because I still think I am that 17 year old girl. I beat you Susan by 10 years. I graduated in 1957 from Holy Angels High. there were 44 in our graduating class. About 200 in the 4 yr. high school. Small was fun. MB

I graduated in 1986 from Redeemer High in New Orleans, LA. I was only there for my senior year because the two years previous I was attending a 'fancy' boarding school, Hockaday School, in Dallas, TX. At the end of my junior year at Hockaday, I was informed that I was 'un-invited' back for the next year. Basically, I was kicked out in a 'fancy' way. It was totally my fault. I had been sneaking out of the dorm at night to do not very nice things and I cussed out the head master. lol

I graduated in 1979 from a school in eastern South Dakota which I couldn't wait to get away from. There were 79 in my class - one died 2 days before graduating - and almost all of them had known each other since kindergarten. Our class cheer was "Beer, whiskey, gin and wine. We are the class of '79." Classy - not!!! I went to college in Minneapolis, MN and never looked back.

Deborah, you have company. I went back to school at 42 to do some graduate work. Graduated in 2009 with a Master's Degree. I believe that you are never to old to go back to school!
Cheers!

I graduated high school in 1995, doesn't seem like it has been 20 years already! I graduated tech school in 2003 and will graduate with my bachelors in business and psychology in 2017 and we'll see how long it takes me to get that phd :) I graduated high school from the same place where I started kindergarten (not the same school but the same town) and I think there were about 85 people in my class, everybody knew everybody back then since it was a small town. I can't say when I'll be a grown up though.

I graduated in 1974 from a country school, Seeger Memorial High School, West Lebanon Indiana. It still to this day is surrounded by grain fields. We consolidated my senior year with two other area high schools, making our graduating class a grand total of 82. We were always Indians until the consolidation then we were Patriots. For me I always remained a Seeger Indian. Hugs Karla |

Isn't it funny how we feel like we haven't aged? I have a friend who has an 18 year old...who was born the year I graduated...and I'm always thinking "Wait...I haven't been out of school that long, have I? I mean it was just yesterday..."
What a fun post to read, gals. Thanks for sharing!

Well this GRanny graduated in 1961, Snyder HS, Snyder, Tx. (250 kids) Then in 1982 my son graduated from Huckabay HS in a class of five. His senior trip: Hawaii! I had to go since he was the only boy. Now this year, 33 years later, his eldest will graduate from the same school. She is one of about 15. My son was 33 when she was born.

This is not about graduation or me but still a neat story. About a year ago we lost a most beloved teacher from our community. She taught music. The very first year she taught, my husband had her, third grade. Many years later she taught my son. Many more years passed and she taught both granddaughters. In first grade my oldest gd got in the car and told about the music teacher who BANGED on the piano and played real loud while they marched and danced around the room. She said they had so much fun. After she finally retired, around age 80, the Kid's and I would sometimes see her when we would go to a little sandwich shop for lunch. Two little girls and their GRanny were always excited to see her.
