It's all April's (sonshine4U) fault!!! lol!
she got me hooked on making these buntings/banners...
I must have a gazillion UFO's in my stash to work on,,, but got de-railed with these... yep, it's all Aprils fault! April made me a banner for the MJF Jubilee swap,,, and now I am hooked!
hugz April...
This banner will be going to Germany to my childhood life long best friend,,, Rank is their last name and I machine embroidered their names on each end piece. There is even a little applique of an Edleweiss flower that is the traditional flower of the Alps... I am sending it to them for their June Wedding anniversary... and she loves the color Red,,, sew this is perfect... I might just have to make 2 more little embroidered flags as add on's, of their 2 grandbabies... the nice thing about these buntings/banners is you can add on extra flags as needed... I only have 3 grand-kiddos, but if a 4th were to come into the fold, how easy to make and add another flag w/the babies name... Oh I am seeing more projects in my future! lol!

Adorable Banner Grace! Your friend is going to be so excited when she opens it up. You know that argument about UFOs?? Well, I think the reason they don't ever get finished is that the idea has past it's prime, no matter how good it seemed at the moment. My solution...... the Thrift store in a bag!! Maybe someone else will take it up. Meanwhile, I like moving on to what is current and inspirational. I might add that technique makes for a great clearing of space and a spirit lifter as you look at how open and clean everything feels. LOL@! Try it and see what you think. It is kinda like old clothes. If you haven't worn it in the past year, most likely you really don't care about it anymore or just don't like something about how it fits. Out it goes to the Thrift store! Suddenly you feel OK about getting something new and fun at the sales rack plus you have room in your closet to actually find it! LOL!! I am the Queen of letting go and moving on to bigger and better things! UFOs be GONE!

Winnie, what a fresh way of looking at what we hang on to. I have a UFO that's got to be 20 years old, but I still keep it in the same bag I did way back then. I take it out every few years and put it back for another time. It will either go to the Salvation Army or I will add to my fabric scrap bag that I use for all sort of projects.
Grace your banners are great. You are a artist and fabric is your medium.
Have a blessed day, Sara FarmGirl Sister #6034 8/25/14 Lord put your arm around my shoulders and your hand over my mouth.

Winnie,,, good advice... alas my problem is two-fold... when I take stuff to the donation/Thrift, I inveritably come home w/stuff! lol! Secondly,,, I had hear that the person who dies with the most Stuff... is the Winner! I wanna be a Winner! snork, giggles... just kidding. Actually I spent the better half of the day, cleaning out drawers and boxes and baskets in my craft room... the 3-pile method.. 1-keep 2-donate 3-toss in the trash... (4) put out in the mini man cave w/the stuff to yard sale next month... now if I can just stick to it...

Winnie great advice. I just cling to stuff I started to make. I am not a hoarder with other things but with the crafts I just can't cleanse. Any other suggestions for craft de cluttering. Awesome banner Grace, I am sure it will be loved. Maryellen
