Hi Everyone!
It has been awhile and I deeply apologize my friends! Things have been so full of change for us over the past two years, I feel like I am barely coming up for air!
I am working at a local aviation company and I love my job and the people I work with! It is such a diverse company and things are always changing!
We bought a cute little 1942 house last May and are in the process of trying to get her back to her old glory. It is a long and arduous path to try and restore a house that has had so much neglect and wear on it. One of our first steps was to start pulling up the carpet. Only a few rooms left and the house will be free of that burden. Thankfully the original hardwood floors are still there!
Nora just celebrated her 8th birthday! I can't hardly believe it!
Nice to see your smiling face again, Alee. I've wondered how you're doing. All sounds well and on track. Carpet be gone!

Alee, good to meet you and welcome back. I've always loved houses from the first half of the 20th century. They have so much personality and tend to lend themselves to many styles of decorating.

Good Morning MaryJane! We still have to scrape the carpet off the floor in Nora's room. They glued it down to the hardwood with really thick glue. Apparently they wanted that carpet to NEVER come up!
Sara- I agree! Its a great house with plaster walls, coved ceilings in the living room, a built in bookshelf in the living room and arched doorways. I love it!

Hello Alee, I read you about barely coming up to the surface for air! Glad to meet you!
Your house sounds wonderful! We own an older home (built 1885) and I know what you mean about "restoring it's glory". It takes time and we have been at it for the past 11 years. Still not fully done. We were going to renovate the small bathroom on the main floor this year, but we had to tap into the reno budget to purchase a new furnace.
If you like working on badges,(as you restore your home), you might want to look at some of the badge requirements. I ended up working on the Home insulation one as we renovated and a couple of others!

Hey Alee, I am so glad to hear from you again!! I have been wondering what you have been up to lately. It sounds like your new home will be such a gem when you have it all redone! Post some photos so we can all see it. Can't believe Nora turned 8 either. Wow, the time sure has flown by. I remember when you were talking about her at age 4!! Welcome back and I look forward to hearing more about all of your new life out in Montana.

Allee: I am glad you are back. Your house was built the year I was born and it does take a lot of work to restore something that old (lol). I wish you the best of luck and can't wait to see a picture of it. Our house in the city was built in 1949.
