Earn your Farmgirl Jubilee Merit Badge!
Each Other: 22. Farmgirl Jubilee
Beginner Level •Look up the definition of jubilee. Tell us about any special jubilee that you’ve celebrated. What events happened that you participated in? •Read about the British Diamond Jubilee for Queen Elizabeth on June 5, 2012. What events took place? What were some ways that regular people participated in the celebration? •Share two ideas you have for how to celebrate on The Farmgirl Connection chatroom under the Farmgirl Jubilee heading.
Intermediate Level •Plan a local Farmgirl Jubilee celebration with your family and close friends that live nearby. Tell us what activities you did together to celebrate the weekend. Provide photos of the event along with a summary. If celebrated online, provide a link. •Take something homemade to a neighbor or friend who might not know about MaryJane’s Farmgirl Sisterhood. It could be a jar of something you canned, fresh baked cookies, or a simple crocheted/knitted dishcloth. Include a handwritten card about our annual Farmgirl Jubilee celebration and deliver the gift while dressed in your favorite apron.
Expert Level •Organize a Farmgirl Jubilee celebration in your state and publicly invite farmgirls to attend. It can take place at a local restaurant, campground, park, your home, or anywhere convenient for a gathering that people can easily find. Make sure to plan for food, shelter, and a few fun activities. Take photos of your event and post them on The Farmgirl Connection chatroom.

I sent my application in today. Hopefully it's accepted because I really want this badge. It should be easy to embroidery and will look good on any jacket/blouse. This is the badge to wear.

I have started working on the beginner level of our Jubilee badge. I want to at least get the first level done before May!

Question,
Intermediate requires an event with close friends and family. Expert requires an event for all farmgirls....do we have to do two events to earn each level?? I am planning a public event for all of our farmgirl group and friends that they invite, it will be open to all. Just wondering if I have to also plan a smaller gathering in order to get the intermediate level :). Sabrina

Not sure if this is the place for me to post my two ideas for celebrating -- I am submitting my work to earn the Beginner Level Farmgirl Jubilee merit badge.
At any rate, my ideas center on drawing other would-be, could-be, should-be ladies into the Farmgirl Sisterhood. I plan to give a gift subscription to Maryjane's Farm magazine to my daughter, who I think would make a GREAT farmgirl.
Also plan to pass along the info to a knitting friend of ours who is searching for a new home -- somewhere where she can raise some chickens and have a few beehives -- she definitely could use some Farmgirl Sisterhood cheerleaders!
Take it easy, but take it. |

Jubilee:a special anniversary of an event, especially one celebrating 25 or 50 years of reign or activity. My family went to the anniversary of the last Civil War surrender. It tookplace in my hometown Citronelle Al.There was a war reinactment,a parade,a market and an Antabellum Ball.We attended all.At the Ball the reinactors wore Civil War Era attire. We were taught the dances that were done during that time and ate refreshments of the Era as well. The British Diamond Jubilee was to celebrate the long reign of the Queen.Itnwas a celebration that last from June 2cd to the 5th.The 2cd was derby day.The 3rd was the Big Jubilee Lunch. The common folks were encourage to share lunch with friends and neighbors to celebrate. The 4th was a concert. A networkof Beacons were lit,2,012 of them. They were lit throughout the UK,th Chanel Island, the Isle of Man and the Commonwealth. The 5th was a service at St Paul Cathedral followed by two receptions,a lunch at Westminster Hall,a Carriage Procession and finally a Balcony appearance by the Queen.I think we can celebrate our Farmgirl Jubilee by having snail mail pingals/pinpals the month of Jubilee. And Alfrisco Farmgirl Jubilee tablescapes.I will submit my ideas twothe forum as directed as well.Thank you.Happy Jubilee.

I am almost done with the first two parts of the Beginner Jubilee Merit Badge (will be my FIRST Merit Badge, though I should complete the quilting and other crafting badges, since I've been doing all for years!) For part three, my Jubilee Merit Badge ideas for celebrating are (I hope it is okay to have more than 2!): *Making and wearing my Jubilee apron (waiting for fabrics I just ordered) *Making a Farmgirl Jubilee banner for my porch; and Posting a picture of my porch and banner *Taking homemade cookies or cake to my neighbor. *Inviting several friends who are NOT MJFGs to join in on the forum and swaps and become a farmgirl. (My DIL joined in mid-year last year and has participated in several swaps.) This is going to be FUN!

I am ready to submit my info for the Beginner Jubilee Badge, but on the submission page the Jubilee Merit Badge is not listed. How and where should I send my answers to fulfill this merit badge Beginner Level? Should I post it all here? Thanks!
