My Grandma Richard's spotless kitchen. Each Spring she would repaint all her wooden furniture with a heavy coat of white paint . . . that included the oak chair in the photo and her Hoosier cupboard with the drop down flour bin. Not sure if she made the apron, but I am fortunate enough to own two of her handmade creations.

Sharon what a wonderful picture. So glad you shared it with us. Bought back memories when women wore their best aprons over Sunday dresses while wearing heels.

Beautiful apron.

Sharon...Thanks for sharing that beautiful picture...I have one of my grandmothers aprons that hangs in my kitchen...it's always a reminder of her and my mom being busy in the kitchen...my grandmother lived with us from the time I was 4 until I was 22 when my mother passed away...I remember too all the work that began in Springtime...gardening...painting and freshening up everything for the wonderful season...and Summer when company always came to stay on vacation...oh the wonderful memories that many of us have to treasure:):):)

Hugs!

Sharon, what a wonderful photo and memory of your Grandmother! I bet she was a good cook !! I would have loved to actually visit her in her kitchen. There is something so heartwarming about the touch of a Grandmother's kitchen on one's soul.

What a beautiful picture! I remember my grandma wearing her best apron and dresses for holiday dog dinners. I don't recall if there are pictures, my mom or uncles may have some. My hubby has a few pictures of his grandmothers like this. His dad's mother died before I met him, but we inherited most of her kitchen stuff (including 3 sets of China... One for my daughter and each of my nieces) and a box full of her aprons, which my 3 year old daughter loves to dress up in to help me cook and bake.
