This time every year I look back on the current year and take stock of what was good, what wasn't, what I need to let go of, and what I need to hold on to or work on.

Not a complete list because I am still taking stock of 2014, but I wanted to share these with y'all.

I discovered MaryJane's Magazine and then the wonderful Farmgirls here on the farm, and my life hasn't been the same since.

I'm letting go of the should of, could of, might of feelings that I have carried around too long.

I now know what I want to work on, spend my time, and energy on.

Please feel free to share your reflections on 2014.

Oh Sara,
Awesome for you and all your reflections of past and for future... and the plans you have for yourself...

I need to let go of being a bit of a 'control freak'... and to stop beating myself up when I don't
get everything done that I 'think' I need too!

I am looking forward to new adventures for my family and myself in the coming New Year.

I need to spend a bit more time with my mother and sister... in spite of the distance we have to travel.

And most of all I need to smile more,,, smile at friends more, smile at strangers more and smile at myself in the mirror more.

and... kiss my husband more!

Grace, you remind me of me when it comes to smiling. People use to tell me to smile, and I would say my soul is smiling on the inside. I still don't smile easily, but people see contentment on my face, and they react favorably to that.

Here's to becoming the woman you want to be, and having many adventures with your family.

I'm with both of you, Sara and Gracie!

- I want to continue to move into feeling better, having struggled with a complicated health issue for a little over a year
- Maintain an ever present "attitude of gratitude"
- Build even closer relationships with my hubby and my daughter
- Build closer relationships with the few who are true friends
- Most of all, have a closer walk with my Lord and Savior!

CJ, may I join you in maintaining an ever present "attitude of gratitude" and striving to have a closer walk with Jesus. You have blessed me with your words.

I have been reflecting over the last year also. I believe this is important in order for a person to move on toward a sort of enlightenment.

What Was Good

I now realize that for the first time in my life I feel happy.
I made up with DH's father.
I realize that I love my husband so much.
I am a member of a wellness group at the clinic which is an excellent source of support.
A very good cat has joined our family.

What Wasn't Good

I now have arthritis added to my list of maladies.

What I Want to Let Go Of

My anger.

What I Want to Hold On To/Work On

Hold on to my current apartment eventhough it is small because I can have a garden in the backyard.
Work on an exercise program.
Hold on to my friends.
Work on losing weight the right way.

Oh my! After looking at this list, I have just realized I had a pretty good year.

Marie, I am so happy you have found happiness within yourself. You had a year of growth and that is a very good year indeed. May the coming year find you in better health, and your anger issues replaced by peace in your life.

The last several days one thought has been running through my mind. Am I too set in my ways? Another way of putting it - am I too comfortable in my daily routine?

There is comfort in waking knowing I will have my cup of tea and play on the computer as I ease into my day. What's been nagging at me is this - wouldn't my time be better spent in the Lord's word as I drink my tea. The answer is of course, yes.

I have turned to my Bible when resting from doing chores, or at the end of the day. I can still do that, but my day would be so much better if I started off with hearing from the Lord.

So, I have decided (the only way to break a habit is to decide to do something else)starting tomorrow - Sunday morning - I will change my old routine. I will start my day with that comfortable cup of tea, but I will be in my rocker reading the Bible.

Between now and Jan 1, 2015 I will mull over other areas of my life that might benefit from a little shaking up, rearranging or turning up-side-down.
