Hey ladies!!! I am attempting my first quilt. I would like an easy pattern that I can throw together quickly. I need that first one to be a confidence booster to be able to tackle harder patterns! lol!
Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated!!! Thanks!!!
Oh, and I would also like to have it big enough to cover myself and then some. I'm due with my 2nd little one (4th total to include bonus children) and I would love to have it large enough to fit her too!

A strip quilt would work up quick and there are no corners to match up. It starts with a jelly roll, 2 1/2 inch strips of fabric, all matching fabrics. (Even walmart has them but they are not a super fine fabric.) You sew the ends together til its all used up. Then you start cutting this loooooong strip to the size you want your quilt and then sew those, side to side. Then you back it and quilt it. Check it out on pinterest. But lots of quilts are easy.....they are just intimidating. Have fun with it.....and share photos!!

hey Nikki, here is a simple easy peasy quilt block to make...
use any sweet fabrics, cut as many needed, same size blocks,,, 1/4" seams to attach... and you have a sweet simple block quilt. Tip: if you want 8" squared blocks you need to cut each block 8 1/2" sq. the 1/2" allows for the 1/4" seam on each side... or you can make this block by stitching small blocks together to create a larger block... but remember to allo for the 1/4" on all 4 sides. (simple 9 patch)

oh and don't rule out small projects like a Lap quilt which is around 45" x 45" or a wee bit larger or smaller.. A table toper or runner... or even a mug rug.. just to get you comfortable with beginning quilting.
table runner and then when you are comfortable, move up to my challenging patterns.
