I am making some headway on some UFO's,, lots, and I do mean, lots more... but at least I got these done...
I bought this 'kit' at a local Quilt shop up in Oakhurst,CA., actually, I bought 2, one for me and one for me dear old neighbor in Spokane, WA. It is a Moda Banner, tag & pillow kit.
This is the banner and the fabric label/gift tags... I used scraps of remnants Holiday fabric for the back sides.
This was suppose to be a 24x24 pillow, but I don't need more pillows so I decided to make it into a Table Topper.... I machine embroidered this cute design on it.... hmmm, maybe if we get another rain storm in (and we will) I will get some more projects finished up!

Let's make this thread a challenge for next year. Something like "The Year of Finished UFOs" or "Finish the Unfinished" or "Taking the U Out of UFO". I would join this challenge.

Great! I am so in and I don't have to look far or dig through closets to find UFOs. They are scattered all over the apartment. My husband will be happy to see them finished and out the door.

I'm also in. More crafty things than stitchery. I need to decide what to do with the merit badges I'm earning. Maybe this will help me stay focused.

I'm so glad you explained what UFO's are, Grace! I wanted to ask, but... SO, I'm sure I have unfinished papercrafting projects - would those work? If so, I'm in, too! :) <That skirt is absolutely adorable!!!!> Hugs - Nini

yep, cards, scrapbooking it all counts...
The 'skirt' is actually an apron made from jeans and lace... I spotted it on pinterest... I have made some, but not as sweet as this one.. so it is on my to-do list, I have the jeans and lace,,, just gotta sit my butt down and 'getter-done'.. lol!

OMG Love Love Love the apron! Gotta do one of those. But first.... the rest of the UFO's. Pulled out a sweater I started a couple of years ago. All I had left to do was attach the sleeve and finish the collar. So did that. Put the sweater on and it was AWFUL!!! Just AWFUL! So I frogged it out. Found a new pattern I liked and started a new sweater with the yarn from the AWFUL one. I am almost done with the back. Finished my GS's Thomas the Train book. So the number of UFO's is getting smaller.
I am not counting the king size Whole Clothe Quilt that I am hand quilting. |

Grace, don't know about over achiever but I am on a mission! hahaha. The bad part is I keep seeing stuff I want to make so I am starting a "want to make" book. Would love to see your aprons. Hope you post a photo!

here is another cashmere scarf I finished (re-purposed).. I did almost a dozen... and I embellish each of them different, I even gave some, un-embellished so the recipient could embellish to their likes.. I still have 3 left to finish, they are cut and ready to be sewn, just need to do it! lol!
some I just stitched on a few beads...
these, hanging are Christmas gifts,,, I love scoreing cashmere sweaters at Thrifts (under $5.. to repurpose... and a lot of them I find for $1-2 because of moth holes, which I just cut around...
easy peasy idea and fairly quick to cut & stitch up.

A log book is a good idea. I have one already started but haven't looked at it in a while. It definitely needs updating at least.

And I tend to pick the projects I WANT to do and not the ones I SHOULD do.

Marie, I hear ya! I always want to do the ones I want. Working very hard to stay focused on the one's I should! hahaha.
Grace, Love Love Love the scarfs. I too love to score goodies at the thrift store. I can't see paying full price when I can get the same thing for pennies on the dollar! Besides, how can you go wrong with cashmere! |
