I am Christian and that is a big part of tradition with the Christmas season in our family. That said, we have kids and grandkids we give gifts to. I would be interested in some of the unique ways you have wrapped presents and also unique gifts you have given and received. I will start. Last year I wrapped up a empty square kleenex box on the outside. I rolled up x amount of taped together dollar bills and opened up the bottom of the box, stuffed the bills in, then taped it shut. I flipped it over to the top and dug out the center bill and pulled it up in the hole where you would pull out a tissue. It was a hoot when my grandson opened it up. He was disappointed when he realized it was a kleenex box, but after a bit of coaching he pulled the first bill and his eyes were huge as he pulled and pulled bills out of the box. It was a hit. Anyone care to share?

This year, we are painting small clay pots white then making them into "snowmen" by gluing buttons, etc on them. Inside the pot we are going to put locally made candy and a little clever note, depending on what candy we end up buying :) That way, it is inexpensive for us, fun for the little ones to make, and it shares a little bit of local flavor to family and friends back across the country! (AND the best part of it is that we are then shopping local and helping small business' in the area by buying their handmade candies!) It's a win-win-win ;)
I also saw a toilet paper roll cut in half, inserted into a mason jar, candy filled around the paper roll and money inserted inside the roll then the cap put on.
Last year, my sister in law gave my husband ten $1 bills made into trees and taped to a card with a caption "You said money doesn't grow on trees, you're right. I found they ARE trees!" We laughed for days about it!
