I have really been dealing with major knee issues. I have been here before, had total replacement of my left knee in 08. I dread all that goes with surgery and i have tried real hard to do all i could to put it off. I have told my reg. Doctor who ordered exrays and phys. Therapy. He will be sending me to an orthopedist next. My question is- i am not having any luck at all with the naproxyn he put me on for the pain. I was taking excedrin before and it did help some. I know it isnt a good one long term. Anyway...even with using ice packs and sometimes heat and the naproxyn i am struggling to do regular stuff most days without a lot of pain. Any ideas? I go gack to the doc on tues, but i already know that 5 years ago this knee was bone on bone so ...

How very painful that must be. I get knee pains from season to season myself, I take Braggs ACV. It really helps my pain. I take approx a tsp or two once a day in iced water. However mine is not as painful as yours sounds. Also on some of the tougher pains I use doTerra deep blue essential oil topically where ever I feel pain. But if you decide to try these check with your doctor. I am not sure how they would mix with your current medications. I pray you will find some relief without having to go back to surgery.

As Kelly said, the Braggs ACV has done wonders for my bad knee (tore the ligament and cartilage in it years ago). It has also helped with all my other aches and pains. I put a tablespoon of it in a tall glass of ice water and drink it while riding my bike or exercising. I've been doing this for years, since I learned about ACV's benefits here on the forum.

I hope and pray Jenny that the Dr. can find a non-invasive way to help you with your knee pain. Keep moving, that is what I found to be the best way to deal with keeping the pain away!

I was having knee pains that were caused by the shoes I wore. the orthopedist explained to me that most shoes are designed based on the way a man is built--their legs come straight down from their hips, while a woman's legs come down at an inward angle. Sounds crazy, but when I found a pair of hiking shoes made by Merrell, which were made especially for women, all my knee and foot pain went away. I wear them all the time now. It's weird to think that shoes could be the cause of knee pain, but I found it was true. Most shoes are not designed for the way a woman's body is built.

Went to the doc today. The results from the exrays were advanced osteoarthritis with some sort of extra bone growth and a loose piece of something 15mm in size. He changed the anti inflammatory med. and gave me a referral to an orthopedist. He was all kind Oh My Gosh this must be really hurting! So hopefully i will get some relief. Meanwhile will try all your suggestions as well, thanks.
