Indeed the large chain stores are well stocked up, much sooner then I remember. Goodness, we haven't even gone through Halloween, and all the Christmas decorations are out! The hastiness of holidays serves as a reminder for me to breath in and breath out while enjoying the present moment.

Having said that, my Christmas shopping is pretty much done, and has been for the past few months. I am not a shopper, so I like to get it out of the way, when the stores are not jam packed with people. I think this method worked to my dd's advantage. I forget what I bough and end up buying way more than I had anticipated! lol

Enjoy your day everyone!

I agree - the stores have Christmas holiday merchandise stocked WAY to early. Then again, when it comes to holiday fabrics I like to see them early, since I usually make most of my gifts. So I guess I have mixed feelings about it. LOL!

Please sign me up as well! I LOVE Christmas. I'd like either a religious or traditional stocking, however, we do not "do" Santa :) So I guess by traditional I mean wintery :) (snowmen, gingerbread men, penguins, etc).

Things I like... hmmmm
I collect willow tree figurines and for Christmas, Nutcrackers
I love cute mugs and tea and hot chocolate
We decorate with snowmen, gingerbread men and Nativities for Christmas... and Nutcrackers :)
I love aprons
I love/collect craft stuff, including fabric, yarn, plastic canvas, cross stitch, etc.
Truly anything homemade - soaps, dishcloths, aprons, decorations, etc!

I see lots of things in the stores that farmgirls have on their Wish Lists for the stockings, but I am finding it hard to buy things until I know who my partner will be. The variety of likes is varied. There are several who list similar items, then there are those who list specific items that no one else has listed. Hmmmmmmmmm - decisions, decisions. LOL!

Connie...We will miss you this year...but I know that you have Baby on The Brain (and Heart) right now...and
that is what you should be concentrating on...the New Little Bundle of Pink coming your way. Grandma's have
so much to do when their FIRST Grandchild is on the WAY. Even if we do nothing our minds are all a Twitter and
we can think of little else but holding that little bundle of JOY. So Happy For You!!!

Linda...Oh, you are in the same boat as the rest of us. Our hands are somewhat tied until we know who are Partner
will be...but it also gives you extra time if you are wanting to make The Stocking or any of the goodies in it.
You will have plenty of time to get it all together in the END.

Love and Hugs,
Peggy

Thanks, Peggy - you are right - we are all in the same boot, so to speak. LOL! I did find a couple things that I DID buy (one of a kind things), so I hope to get a partner who wants them. LOL! I've already started planning the stocking.

I know I will have to make a stocking so I am starting with that. It usually takes the longest to put together. I will be making more stuff this year as I have less money to spend. I can see that almost everyone has mentioned chocolate. That is easy and delicious.

I saw the funniest bar of chocolate at Joanns yesterday - it said it was for emergencies.... it had all these symptoms, like lovesickness, loneliness, cravings, etc. and then for directions, it said to break off whatever dosage you want and consume. If more is needed, eat more ;) I cracked up! I actually read it out loud to my kids, and the folks in line around us were laughing as well! Great fun :) Chocolate is always good!

I found it! Go to http://www.chocablog.com/reviews/bloomsberry-emergency-chocolate/ It says: "For immediate relief of: chocolate cravings, lovesickness, exam pressure, mild anxiety, and extreme hunger. Directions for use: Tear open wrapper, break off desired dosage, and consume. Alternatively massage into the affected area. Repeat dosage as required until finished. If symptoms persist consult your local confectioner."

Wow Shannon...was surprised to read the bad reviews on Emergency Chocolate.
I must admit that the one I had tasted like old chocolate...like someone had
saved it for a very long time. LOL

That was interesting though.

I'd love to join Peggy :) I really enjoyed this stocking swap before! I do live in Canada - so I hope this won't be an issue. I am religious....but I also enjoy traditional, as long as it doesn't include Santas :) I do very much enjoy snowmen though...and my colours and red, green and gold throughout the house! I love chocolate - but am staying away from chocolate right now due to some health issues :) I honestly would enjoy absolutely anything! But, to help here are some thing I like/collect....

1. Primitive things
2. Handmade items (the usual - soaps, aprons, washcloths, decorations...anything!!)
3. Bath stuff
4. Cross stitch kits
5. Old Tins (the kind that held tea, or some other item)
6. Tea cups

I'm so looking forward to receiving my partners name and choosing out some special items just for her :) I shall get started on my stocking now!
